The movie star disclosed this while speaking on the stigma of being a little person in a recent episode of the One On One podcast alongside his wife.
He explained that he was oblivious of his reality until he started getting rejections at job interviews after his secondary school.
“As a child you barely understand your reality but you knew you were different from every regular person.
“When the reality of being a little person first hit me was when I finished secondary school and I couldn’t secure minor jobs like others,” he stated.
Nkubi said regrettably, his daughter is already facing the same stigmatisation from internet trolls, who make derogatory comments about him due to her size.
He, however, noted that him and his wife we aware of the possibility of having a child with dwarfism and were emotionally prepared for it.

Hope that their daughter will also be emotionally prepared cos the trolling wont stop oh....

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the only mistake the doctor made was giving that advice when it wasn't pre natal counseling, she was already pregnant, give her the information she needs and keep your opinion private, a couple that came to you for prenatal/genetic advice can be counseled to use the husband's relative as a sperm donor to avoid having a special child. I wish them all the best sha, trolls and bullies, make una rest!!!

Is their child ready for the discrimination she will face? because, her own will be worst than her father's own because of the Internet. Unlike her father's time, people will talked down on her, both online and offline.
2, if you miss Aboki happens to be that their daughter, will you be happy with your father nkubi and his wife?

I can only imagine what that little girl will go through in life in other to succeed.
Just imagine what her father being a man went through before being able to put food on the table and getting married.
I'm not against him giving birth, it's just the wellbeing of their offspring is my concern.

No one is saying that they should not marry, but giving birth is what they should have asked themselves if their kids will be ready to face the bullies when they, their parents won't be there to cheer them up.

It was not so long ago that black ppl on this earth were not even consider humans and categorized as animals in every science and medical book, called savages and looked down on. Viewed as fitting only for enslavement and doing grunt work, and their children seen as nothing. Black ppl of all ppl should be the last to discriminate against their own and put down anyone.
The real reason so many believe this couple should not procreate is because they view ppl living with disabilities as abnormal and do not wish to see more of them. I would be brave enough to guess that the population of those with dwarfism is less than 1% of the entire population, it is that rare. If we cannot accept this small population of individuals and treat them as valuable members of our society then what are we on this earth for. What is your fake worship and filthy lips calling on God seeking favours for problems that you create when you look at your fellow humans as not worthy of the life that God gave them, fearfully and wonderfully made like all creation. If it’s not ppl with dwarfism it’s albinos. Because this is what this is all about, who deserves to live and who doesn’t. Keeping them in the back rooms and don’t let them come out is fine for some of you, but treat them as human how dare you?
