Actor Nkubi's Wife Vivian Says A Doctor Asked Her Why She Got Pregnant For Her Husband

Na wah!!!
Actor Nkubi's wife Vivian has revealed that a doctor had questioned her decision to fall pregnant by her husband.

During a recent interview with Pulse, she revealed that the doctor said she should have used a spxrm donor or asked her brother-in-law to impregnate her instead.

In her words;
"When I did my abnormality scan and handed it to the doctor , he asked if there was any trace of dwarfism in my family.
I said Yes, that it was my husband
Then the doctor said, why didn't you go to your brother-in-law or go outside to get pregnant instead of getting pregnant for your husband or even get a sperm donor.....That is what a doctor told me
We're not given equal rights in this country at all".

  1. The doctor actually means well for you and the innocent child you brought into this world, stop making it seem like he did something bad.

    1. What do you mean the doctor mean well for her?? Some Nigerians with their village thinking mentality is alarming! The doctor is their to do his job treat patients and not being judgemental.

    2. The Doctor maybe correct but it didn't come out well. That can still be advised politely

  3. The doctor is right, she should have used a sperm donor or avoid procreation. No need of sentiments. They have brought a special needs child into the world, the guy no even try born am for abroad.

    1. Exactly. I read comments bashing the doctor yesterday and I just shook my head. The doctor meant well for them, though I don't support husband's brother getting her pregnant, but she should've used a sperm donor.
The child's wellbeing and mental health should've been paramount to them. In the country I live in, people would've appreciated the advice. The child may grow up resenting them for bringing her into the world. There are so many ways people can procreate now and they should not be so closed minded and selfish. Factor in everything while making decisions that would affect others.

  5. The kind of bullying this lady is receiving in her comments for marrying a dwarf eee and her daughter resembla her husband.
,I pray the marriage won't crash. It's like she is finding it difficult to be strong again .

  7. Thats a quack doctor practicing in Nigeria. Shame on you Nigeria and the Nigeria medical council.

  8. Sentiments aside, the doctor didn't say anything wrong. Personally if i have any kind of abnormality that I know can be passed to my offspring I'll take every precaution not to allow it happen. Nkubi himself is selfish for bringing another like himself to face all he faced. He could have ended it on himself. This world is cruel to even those we see as beautiful or perfect. How much more those that have conditions that subjects them to bullying? That innocent girl will not forgive them. I admire Vivian honestly and I think she's a good woman. But they should have explored options that would save them and their generations while still happy together as a couple.

    2. 15:10, thank you. Someone that reasons objectively and not with sentiments. A lot of Nigerians are too sentimental.
The essence of finding out our abnormalities is so we don't pass it on to generations. Make it end with the person.

  10. You will almost weep for this country when you see the number of comments supporting what this doctor said!

Yes, they have a little person as a child! Will her life be a little harder? Ofcourse. But does that mean she won’t make it in life with proper guidance, support and direction? Hell no!!!!

Her parents are successful content creators, her dwarf daddy is even an actor! They are already paving way for her success.

    1. Will she grow up to be content creator too? That we don't know..
I'm more concerned about what she will go through in life, the bullying when the parents won't be there to defend her..
The low self-esteem,the bitter emotions she will hide from everyone, the pretense etc,can she handle it..
I understand a child is involved but,I don't know how to put it without sounding insensitive but there will be days that child will wish never to be born, you need to see really mean comments people leave in the comments section then you will understand..

    2. That doctor would be sanctioned in the country where I live. You give your medical care and keep your opinions to yourself. Abide by the ethics and values that govern your industry.

The funny thing is that no matter how well you are born anybody can become disabled. One bad accident, an illness, an act of violence, and aging can all lead to a disability. Folks talk so freely as though they are so sure of tomorrow. Instead of working to improve disability rights and creating an equitable society they fighting against the respect they or their loved one may need one day.

    3. They have started bullying her now as a child, imagine what will happen when she grows up.
Many are using the child to do caricature on social media.

    4. 17:11, thank u so much! Some people married tall people and gave birth to kids with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome etc!
I bet you some of those would gladly accept to give birth to a healthy little person instead of those ones but no, they have a problem with a healthy child just because she was born different

    5. Thank you @ Mrs. Sharon. I just feel for that child and what she'll likely go through.
@Eka, yeah, some tall people give birth to disabled children, that's understandable because it is unforseen. Why not prevent the one that's obvious. I do not condone the doctor suggesting the brother in law, but Nkubi and wife were selfish cost there's a whole different ways to procreate. Our children's wellbeing should be more important than whatever selfish reasons we have.

  13. I don’t know if she will ever hear more painful words than that. That had to hurt terribly for a long time.

People living with disabilities deserve to have happiness. Happiness is not reserved solely for able bodied ppl. Let’s not forget that the majority of disabled ppl come into the world through parents with no disabilities.

  14. that doctor is a terrible person to ask a married woman to sleep with her brother in-law. The woman already knew what she signed for.

  15. I wonder why people are bashing the doctor.
It’s really unfair to deliberately bring a child with disabilities to the world because she didn’t ask to be born neither did she participate in the activities that brought her.
I don’t know if IVF could have helped in choosing a fertilised zygote; if yes, I expected them to have opted for that.
It’s just like two AS genotype carriers taking a risk and bringing an SS child to the world.
I recently advised two AS partners they could go ahead and get married if they know they can afford assisted reproduction to which they answered yes.
Honestly, with the advancement in medical science and God’s help, some kind of disabilities shouldn’t be coming forth any longer.

    1. Advising two AS people to go their separate ways from you is different from a Doctor in his office telling a pregnant woman who came for anomaly scan that she should have used her brother in-law.He had good intentions but his approach was wrong and unprofessional

      Delete
  16. As long as this could’ve been prevented, the doctor is actually trying to help, he’s wrong on the brother in law part though, that’s if it’s true the doctor mentioned brother in law. They better put emotions aside and consider doing it write if they must have another child. The world is not fair to normal people let alone abnormal people.

  17. Ever met an elderly little person? Dwarfism comes with complications and there should be genetic counselling prior to conception.

Post conception is too late . Should have been more sensitive too
