Asake said that his father's opposition of his career choice caused their relationship to become strained.
He said he disobeyed his father and went after his dream regardless.

He said: “The father who gave birth to me, he’s more stubborn than I am. So I couldn’t look him in the face.
`My dad and I were so close when I was younger. But it got to a time when I wanted to leave home to do what I’m doing now but my father said ‘No.’ I left regardless.”
I was 15 then, focused on where I was going. And there was nothing anybody could tell me”.
Asake made it known that he loves his father as much as he loves his mother and said his love for his father is still the same, and even if his father points a gun at him, he’ll always be his father.
