Unidentified gunmen suspected to be bandits on Sunday struck the Ariko community in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The gunmen reportedly targeted two Christian worship centres during Easter celebrations, killing at least seven people and abducting several others.

Troops of the Nigerian Army have intercepted and arrested two suspected informants linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) along the Nigeria–Niger border in Borno State during a routine patrol operation.
