EFCC Arrests Former Skye Bank Chairman Tunde Ayeni Over Alleged N36.5bn and $30m Fraud

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...Do you know why I am laughing?Tell me and join me......

Have you heard that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested businessman and former Skye Bank chairman Tunde Ayeni over allegations of large‑scale financial fraud?.

He was taken into custody in Abuja on Thursday, April 23, 2026, and is currently being held for questioning.
According to investigators, Ayeni is being probed for the alleged diversion and mismanagement of N36.54 billion and $30 million.
The funds were reportedly obtained as loans from Polaris Bank through several companies linked to him.

The loans were said to be earmarked for projects including marine security, electricity distribution, and estate development, but investigators allege the money was instead moved into other accounts and used to acquire telecom assets connected to NITEL/MTEL through a NATCOM account.
The EFCC is examining about 12 companies associated with Ayeni that were used to secure the loans. The agency has confirmed his arrest, though its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, said no further details would be released at this stage.

Ayeni is expected to be charged in court once the investigation is concluded.

    2. No.
It is alleged he did wrong. That's all.
Let us wait for proof and what follows.
If he did it, let him be marked on the records, forced to refund, and sentenced do the time

Question: Was Adaobi not with him when he was at the bank?
Even if not, what is the difference between his case and Yul's that we all flex our "Maynationizim" on here regularly?
Every adulterous husband is the same.
He and Yul had a first wife and went for another wife while still married to their first separate wife, right?
      We stone Yul and Judy, especially Judy each time here;
But we stone this man too always here and praise Adaobi - a woman who allegedly befriended the father of her classmate, had a child with him, and married him. A woman who cannot claim the usual alibis that he deceived her he was not married, or that he was divorced, or that he was a widower.

Laugh at him for the allegation because IF FOUND TRUE it is peoples' money (shareholders' funds) and a shameful act against investors in the Bank.

But the jubilating "Karmalizing" of the allegation tells a lot about us. That our trademark angst against polygamy, cheating by husbands on this blog is biased or personalized, and not based on the wrongness of the actions.

As we jubilate for Adaobi, let us ask ourselves who amongst us wants (sorry, prays for) for an "Adaobi" to follow our husband as a concubine, second wife, or have a child with him?

Let us search our hearts whether all our vituperations under chronicles of husbands' adulteries or our daily desideratum against husbands' cheating are just misandrists' comments or algorithms actuated.

    1. Yet una dey always criticize polygamy - with how do they share fluids, spirits, it cannot be me, bla, bla, etc.
Adaobi knew he was fully married before she went there as concubine and later as at best second wife (polygamy).
There is no innocent party between two co-adulterers.
Please pardon as my comments are based on assumptions that you would not want to be a second wife or a numbered wife sharing husband with another woman or women. You may actually not mind be in it already

    1. "No generational wealth that doesn't come with fraud.......!"

      Not true
Generational wealth can be built on creating a unique product and selling it without fraud. Examples abound.

Generational wealth may also be built on being insensitive to generally accepted norms of relating with people at the time, hard nose negotiation, scorched earth business tactics, legal low pay to employees, etc. But all those are not "fraud" as in thievery or stealing as alleged by the law enforcement agency in their charge.
