Nigerian singer Tems says her rise to global stardom has reshaped the way she sees herself, love, and the people around her.

Speaking in a recent interview with Doose of Society, the Grammy winner revealed that before fame, she struggled with hyper‑independence and often pushed people away.
Tems explained that becoming an artist forced her to grow emotionally, teaching her to embrace love, stay open, and allow vulnerability.

In her words, “Being an artist has truly changed my life… I had to let go of habits that were holding me back, like being overly independent and the tendency to push people away. I’ve now learned to embrace love, to stay open, and to give freely. I allow myself to be vulnerable without feeling odd.”
