The DESPERATION to be wealthy, the struggle to 'belong', and the urge to impress, is messing up a lot of young people.
ReplyDeleteWe've seen people borrowing money to throw lavish weddings and parties, only for event to end, and people are calling them out upandan.
We've seen people who are owing plenty money, come online to do giveaways, to get the applause of humans.
We've seen people lie about owning properties, cars, etc, so that they can appear rich. Meanwhile, dem no even get bicycle tyre sef.
Infact, we've seen people borrowing clothes, shoes, phones etc, to attend events just to make a statement. Imagine the stress!! 🤦
Any lifestyle you cannot afford, is a lifestyle you should avoid.
Work hard, think smart, resist the urge to impress anyone and be content with you have. The peace of mind that comes with living within your means, is priceless!
If you have the money and you want to ball, it's fine. That's on you.
I'm talking about those who don't have, yet want to live lavishly. You will end up in SHAME, DISGRACE and REGRET.

Instead of meditating on our problems, we need to meditate on how good and loving our God really is. When we keep our minds on our problems, we create anxiety. But when we keep our minds on the promises of God, we get infused with his peace. So allow the promises of God to heal your soul of worry and stress by focusing on his goodness and willingness to show himself strong on your behalf. 'The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him' (2 Chronicles 16:9 NLT).
Our heavenly Father loves us and already knows our needs. When we take hold of that truth, fear and doubt fall by the wayside. Confession: 'I don't give in to needless worry. I pray about problems rather than complain about them. God hears my prayers, and I thank him for all he's provided. I experience God's peace because I know he hears me and has already answered my prayers in Jesus.'

Yesterday, a conversation came up between me and a man. We moved from one topic to another and I told him how I met my 30 years old cousin whom I have never seen physically before in an event and we connected immediately due to a striking resemblance. He paused for a second and said. Do you know non of my children looks like me? According to him, none of his children look like him or any member of his family. He has three married siblings and all there children looks like them. He lives in a different state while his wife and children live in a different state. They have lived like this since he got married due to his kind of job. He visits often.
ReplyDeleteDuring this last holidays, he brought his two sons to stay with him for the first time, and they spent several weeks together without the mother or the other siblings. However, whenever people saw them together, they kept making comments like, “This your sons doesn’t look like you at all.” It got to a point where he felt so embarrassed that he stopped taking them out.
Now he’s deeply worried and considering doing a DNA test in secret. But he’s also scared, what if the result turns out negative? What if none of the children are actually his? And what if his wife or the kids find out he went behind their backs to do the test? So many “what ifs” are troubling him.
I encouraged him to let sleeping dogs lie. Sometimes resemblance can be surprising, maybe his wife's family has a stronger gene like Nkubi. But he seems to be giving in to the pressure around him.
This opened my eyes to what a pastor friend once told me. ... Zaram, life is changing, so many men are secretly, doing DNA test on their children.
My mind is worried on the many what if's. God please help marriages 🙏.
It will surely get better provided we are not giving up soon
