They arrested 41 year old Eke Henry Ifeanyi, a suspected drug kingpin, along with other suspects.
During the operation, officers seized 425 bags of what is believed to be “Canadian Loud,” valued at around ₦7.8 billion.
The raid happened at a three bedroom apartment and warehouse on Olori Adekemi Ajibola Street in Arowojobe Estate. Police had been watching the suspect for months after receiving information from a concerned citizen. They also recovered vehicles fitted with fake “presidency” and National Youth Council of Nigeria number plates, which the suspects allegedly used to move the drugs.
According to police reports, Ifeanyi tried to bribe the commander of the Special Protection Unit with ₦500 million to stop the operation and give him time to move the consignment.
The officers rejected the bribe outright and documented the attempt for further action. The police force described the operation as a big win against drug trafficking
