
Tinubu inaugurated the Bola Tinubu Specialist Complex at FMC Jabi, Abuja — a two‑storey specialist and VIP healthcare centre with theatres, ENT and Ophthalmology units, a lab, pharmacy, VIP wards and general wards.
At the Federal Ministry of Health, he launched the NEMSAS Emergency Response Fleet, including 145 tricycle ambulances, six boat ambulances, 79 emergency ambulances and digital equipment to support the SAVEMAMA emergency obstetric and newborn care programme.
In Lagos, the President flagged off CNG‑powered ambulances for all 73 federal tertiary hospitals to cut fuel costs, reduce emissions and strengthen referral systems.
Across the North-West, Tinubu commissioned upgraded Polio Emergency Operations Centres in Kano, Katsina and Sokoto, and opened the Gadon Kaya Primary Health Centre in Kano under the World Bank‑supported IMPACT Project. The Aboh PHC in Delta State was also commissioned under the same programme.
The President further inaugurated new tertiary hospital projects:
---A Laboratory Complex at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital
---A new Administrative Complex at UNTH Enugu
---A Pharmacy Quality Control Laboratory at ABU Teaching Hospital, Zaria
In Maiduguri, he commissioned a 50‑bed Mental Health and Drug Rehabilitation Centre, while in Lagos he opened the Immunisation Supply Chain Hub at the Federal Medical Stores, Oshodi.
Tinubu described the investments as “the most ambitious renewal of the country’s healthcare infrastructure in a generation,” reaffirming his commitment to delivering quality care nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Health, the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative has so far revitalised nearly 3,000 primary health centres, established 27 emergency obstetric and newborn care sites, and upgraded over 2,900 health facilities across the country in the last two years.
