TEACHER LIFE

At this point, I am convinced teachers need a recovery group.
Not for classroom stress.
Not for lesson notes.
Not even for parents.
A proper support group for people traumatized by school management systems
A new colleague recently shared her experience from her former school and honestly, I have not recovered.
I asked her why she left.
The story she told me...
Haaaaaa.
This lady was the Headmistress.
At the same time, she was a class teacher.
Not for one class.
Not for two classes.
Three classes.
Three.
And as if that wasn't enough, she was also the unofficial social media manager for the school.
All for ₦50,000.
A graduate of Early Childhood Education.
I asked her,
"Why were you handling three classes?"
She said she once asked the school owner the same question.
The response?
"I am not ready to pay anybody more than ₦50,000."
Simple.
Case closed
Then she continued.
Apparently, there was a period when the bus attendant resigned.
Instead of employing another one...
Guess who became the bus attendant?
Her.
The Headmistress.
Class teacher.
Social media manager.
And now bus attendant.
One person carrying an entire organizational chart.
Haaaaaaa.
According to her, salaries were rarely paid on time.
Staff would wait. And wait. And wait.
There was always one explanation or another.
Then came the event that finally broke her spirit.
One day she stumbled upon a budget document for the school owner's daughter's wedding.
The budget? ₦60 million..Sixty. Million Naira.
Meanwhile, staff salaries were outstanding.
The school's rent was overdue.
The landlord had reportedly served a notice to quit.
But there was ₦60 million available for a wedding.
At that point, she said something inside her just clicked.
No shouting.No argument.No confrontation.
She simply sat down at the school computer, typed her resignation letter, submitted it, and left.
Just like that.
As she was telling me this story, I found myself becoming very quiet.
Because there I was thinking I was underpaid.
Only to discover there are levels to these things
Some people are not underpaid.
They are under-underpaid.
The kind of salary that makes you wonder whether your employer sees you as staff or as part of the school's charity project.
The truth is that many teachers stay because they genuinely love teaching.
They love children.
They love seeing growth.
They love making a difference.
But passion cannot pay rent.
Passion cannot buy fuel.
And passion definitely cannot survive indefinitely on promises.
Sometimes when people ask why teachers are leaving the profession, the answer is not complicated.
Many are simply tired of being expected to do the work of five people while being paid like half a person.
God help teachers in Nigeria because sometimes the stories you hear from fellow teachers sound less like employment and more like survival.

She became the Bus driver? God abeg, I don laugh tire..what is this? hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha Miss C please dont crack my ribs!

NOTORIOUS FOR JESUS

Last week, My husband and I were working in our garden in the afternoon and as we cleared the weeds near the wall, I noticed a movement from one of the open holes that had not yet been cemented.
To my shock, a snake slowly emerged from the opening. For a brief moment, we both froze and watched it carefully. The snake seemed just as startled as we were. Within seconds, it slipped back into the hole and disappeared.
Even though it was gone, the thought of it hiding inside our wall made us uneasy. We could not stop imagining where it might reappear next.
The experience completely changed how I felt about houses that are not cemented or unfinished openings. The minor construction detail suddenly became a serious concern.
We discussed the situation and agreed that something had to be done. Neither of us wanted to risk another encounter, especially because of the safety of our children.
The following day, we gathered the materials needed to seal the opening. We carefully cemented the hole ourselves and checked for any other gaps . I felt so relieved knowing that the snake no longer had access through the wall. Since then, we have been more vigilant about home maintenance.
The garden feels safer now, and we can work there without constantly worrying about reptiles of any kind, hiding in the walls.

I stopped reading when i sawthe word Ssssssssssssssnake.....Pease someone should explain how it ended...
Last week a big man told me only two things make him cry......seeing a snake and getting an injection.....mine is three, just include cockroach to his two...hehehehehehehehe

WEIRD FACTS
--- Don’t ruin today by worrying about yesterday’s problem.
--- Travel. As much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place.
---- In life, you'll realize that there is a purpose for every person you meet. Some will teach you, and some will bring out the best in you.
--- The harder you work for something, the greater you'll feel when you achieve it.
--- Your body craves sugary, salty and fatty foods when you're under a lot of stress.

*****************

LET THAT BRIDGE BURN

Some bridges are beautiful when they burn. There's a calmness that takes over when you know you can no longer go back.
When you have decided. When you have healed.
There's a settled peace that comes when you have lost your appetite for things that used to pull you backwards. When you know you have changed.
People may say you have changed but you know you've dropped the chains.
Only remember that what once bound you will come again to try and bribe you. The life you escaped will sometimes cross your path.
Keep in mind that even if you went back you wouldn't fit there anymore
Some chapters have closed and you're no longer the same person.
Build your new life until the old one is completely obsolete.

    1. Opay is good, though I am yet to use others of its kind. I was cajoled into opening it some months ago and I must confess I am enjoying it, Transactions are always very smooth. You can open but not make it your main account.

      Delete
    2. From the month OPAY launched many years back in Nigeria;I have been with them till this day..

I started with them just because of convenience for my customers(Have a POS business in my Gadget store,so it was easier to confirm payment).

If you understand that feeling of being heart broken and later finding true love just like in the movies;that’s how my transactions has been and still going(I have other traditional banks but prefer and use OPAY for my day to day activities in business)

      God abeg😁

Other traditional banks in Nigeria just can’t relate with giving customers this kinda peace.

To open an Opay account and move it up to Tier 3(this level allows you move up to 5m and more) you need:

a)OPAY App(Download from Playstore or AppStore)

      b)Proof of address
c)Bill payment to confirm address above(Dustbin or other utility bill which confirms your address above )

      d) NIN/BVN

With the app,you do everything yourself;takes less than 10 mins.

NB: Please use solely for daily transactions;Fix your life savings there at your own risk🙏🙏

      Hope this helps..

  24. I watched a documentary in YouTube on GLP-1 drugs recently. Those are the ozempic, mounjaro, zepbound etc etc trending drugs used for weight loss.

For context, these drugs are not created for weight loss, they were developed for type 2 diabetes.

There were several interviews of people who had taken the drugs for weight loss, hmmm- all I can say is, if you value your liver and kidneys, just go to the gym.
Or walk for one I hour every day.
Yes it may take longer to lose weight but, in the long run, much much much safer.

Also for those planning veneers, go to YouTube and do research research research adverse effects, watch interviews of of people and their regrets, weigh the pros and cons for everything.

Make your decisions from a position of insight and not from peer or spousal pressure.

    3. @Anon 14:47,Respectfully, I don’t think it’s as simple as “just go to the gym.” Many people taking GLP-1 medications have already spent years trying diet and exercise alone. These medications are not right for everyone, but they are evidence based treatments that have helped many people improve their health. Research is important, but so is recognizing that different people face different medical realities.

One pays his cleaners who double as messengers, nannies, assistant teachers(when any of the assistant teachers is absent), etc 25k per month.
He doesn't pay them until 15th to 17th day of the new month. If they miss work for a day due to sickness or anything, he deducts 1000 per day. I wonder what one can do with 25k salary these days. ''Travel. As much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place.'' This quote sounds inspiring, but it doesn't fully reflect the reality of today's Nigeria. With the current security challenges, the freedom to travel as much as you can, as far as you can, and as long as you can is a privilege that many people no longer feel safe enough to enjoy.
