Somtochukwu Okafor, one of the sons of late Nollywood comic legend John Okafor (Mr Ibu), publicly called out his stepmother, Stellamaris, and accused her of selling off the late actor’s properties and keeping the proceeds while presenting herself as financially stranded.
Stellamaris had recently gone online seeking help to pay rent and school fees for her children, claiming hardship since the actor’s death. But Somtochukwu, Mr Ibu’s third son, released a viral video challenging her narrative. He insisted that she was not the only one with children for the late actor and accused her of sidelining the rest of the family.
According to him, Stellamaris allegedly sold multiple properties belonging to Mr Ibu including a Lagos house reportedly sold for ₦60 million, an Enugu property allegedly sold for ₦17 million, and another in Asaba allegedly sold for ₦11 million. He claimed she sent him only ₦40,000, despite having access to donations made during Mr Ibu’s illness, which he said amounted to ₦66 million.
Somtochukwu further alleged that she refused to assist him with his WAEC fees and blocked him and other siblings from benefiting from their father’s estate, yet now portrays herself as the victim.
He said his father had personally instructed Stellamaris to take care of him before he died, including paying his WAEC fees , instructions he claimed she ignored.
