During a recent TikTok livestream, she alleged that her former label was working through indirect means to undermine her progress after she defeated a $2‑million lawsuit filed against her. She stated that the label had previously taken down her song Pepper Me, which she later restored with her team after proving it was an illegal takedown. She further alleged that the label had once again removed songs from her new project in a renewed attempt to frustrate her.
Qing Madi appealed to her fans to speak out against what she described as ongoing injustice, adding that she was becoming exhausted by the continuous disputes with her former label.
In response, Joy Tongo dismissed the allegations as false. She denied forging Qing Madi’s signature or stealing from her and insisted that the legal case referenced by the singer was still ongoing. She maintained that the existing injunction in the case gave the label the legal authority to issue takedowns on the singer’s songs or projects. She also stated that the matter had not yet gone to trial.
