The Ogun State Government has commenced a move to ban unapproved motorcycle operators’ associations operating across the state, warning them to immediately stop the illegal collection of revenues, levies, and other government-related charges from commercial motorcycle operators. The activities of the unapproved association are a violation of the state's regulatory framework. Their continued operations threaten public peace and order and lead to illegal collection of revenues. According to the Ogun State Government, only three motorcycle operators' associations are recognised and permitted to operate on public roads and parks in Ogun state
However, the enforcement of the directive would be carried out strictly in accordance with the law, and the government declared that police and other relevant agencies would take lawful measures against any individual or group that violates the directive.
