President Tinubu Orders Full Forensic Audit Of IPPIS, Ministries And Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered a full forensic audit of IPPIS, federal ministries, agencies and parastatals.
The Finance Minister, Taiwo Oyedele, will coordinate the exercise following FEC’s August 19, 2026 resolution triggered by ICPC findings on fake agencies, ghost workers and payroll fraud.

The audit will dig into IPPIS, payroll, personnel, pension and financial‑management systems, tracing how ghost workers were enrolled, reviewing identity and bank‑account controls, and checking the interfaces with GIFMIS, Remita, TSA and Sub‑TSA to determine whether fraud came from system defects or deliberate manipulation.

A second component will verify all federal bodies, confirm their legal status, and examine how agencies gain recognition, budget access and system privileges. Governance, procurement and internal‑audit controls will also be assessed to close loopholes that allow irregular entities or individuals to access public funds.

Tinubu expects the audit to strengthen government architecture, improve data verification, reinforce accountability and ensure only legitimate agencies and eligible personnel access federal resources. He directed that the review be carried out with full independence, professionalism and forensic integrity, in collaboration with the ICPC.

  2. The first step to achieving a good result is: when a staff is posted to another Ministry, let his/her paypoint be automatically moved to that Ministry they were posted to. They should not have to wait for staff to apply. Now you have been posted to another Ministry but your paypoint is still with the former Ministry. For financial stuff, they capture you here, they capture you there. Two places. Now days, the accounts department and budget unit staff are too lazy to select. They will even add names of staff who are on Release.
