No, there are many men here. Most dont comment. They have jobs. Most of them are bread winners, with multiple streams of income. ReplyDeleteI have friends that I bend over backwards for all the time. And for the sake of this venting, let me be clear that I’m not just talking about doing little favors. I’m talking financially too. I can deprive myself of something just to help you. If you need a loan of ₦400,000, I can put my own needs aside to make sure you get it. And I won’t even loan it to you, I will dash you. I’m not saying this to boast. I’m saying it so you can understand where my frustration is coming from.
I hardly ask anyone for anything, especially financially, because thankfully, I don’t need financial support from anyone. But I do things for people all the time, financially, emotionally, in every way. I’ve even had to beg my husband to lend money to a friend before, which he did, and the person paid back. Those are the kinds of things I do for people I call my friends.
But every single time, the one time or the few times I need just a little bit of assistance, not even financial help, just simple help with something, they almost always struggle to do it. And these are the same people I constantly do things for.
Now look at what happened yesterday.
I had something I needed to send to Ikorodu, and my sister happened to be going there today. So last night, I sent a message to a friend and begged her to please use Uber. I told her I would pay. All I needed was for her to send the package to my sister before 12 noon because my sister leaves her house by then, and once she leaves, she won’t be able to receive it anymore.
Then this morning, just so she wouldn’t forget, I sent the address details again.
So why is my sister calling me by 12 to tell me the package still hadn’t been delivered?
I immediately called my friend, and she casually told me she hadn’t sent it yet.
Nna, I vex sha and just told her “Don’t bother about it,” and I ended the call.
The annoying part is that this isn’t even the first time.
A few weeks back, I had someone’s phone that needed to be sent from Ikorodu. She was already in Ikorodu, so I gave the package to her and asked her to help me send it the next day through a courier. The person was going to pay. All she needed to do was place an Uber pick up order for someone to come and pick it up.
I specifically told her the person closes by 3pm. Even though the person had said he closed by 4 p.m., I intentionally said 3 just in case there were delays, so there would still be enough time.
After so many calls and reminders, she eventually sent it so late that the person, someone who closes work by 4 had to stay back until about 6 or 6:30 waiting.
And after all that, they still couldn’t collect it because she made a mistake with the address, so the courier went to the wrong location. They then had to start looking for someone else to move the package from that location to the correct one.
I’m honestly just looking for a place to vent because this is so frustrating.
The funny thing is, even after experiences like this, I don’t tell myself, “That’s it, I’m never helping anyone again.” That’s actually what hurts me the most. It’s like I keep giving people chances, and they keep taking those chances for granted.
At this point, I’m just emotionally exhausted.

I have had similar issues and I have realised that most people won't be there for you in the manner that you have been for them.
I will either let them know how hurt I am or not but what is certain is,I am cutting them off.
Adults know when they are wrong.
If you know this friend always does this, then minimize how you help her. She feels that you're in a position to her anytime because she feels you have it. But, when you ask her for assist, I believe she is being reluctant to help because, maybe she feels that you should find her a little thing, you know that kind thing because, you can't tell me that if you have given her something, she would be wasting time.

There was a frenemy trolling me anonymously on this blog, asking personal questions that I didn't post online. She goofed on the day she asked of herself, if we are still in contact. She didn't know that I never told anyone that we had a fall out. I stopped commenting for a while because I felt triggered.
I was battling with unemployment, high blood pressure, separation, low funds, and accomodation.
It's been three years since I left banking without a job, separated and relocated , God has indeed been good and kind to me.
I have paid rent thrice, will pay the next one in December πGod is faithful.
I take full ownership of every of my decision, I am not one to blame others. I can't begin to write all I have been through in the past three years.
Three years ago, I wanted to take my life,the thought kept coming every few months since 2023, but this January, I stood my ground prayerfully. I avoid everything/everyone that triggers it.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger and started seeing my period, I used to be in severe pains, like very bad excruciating pain that will make me unable to do anything. So this day I left food and nutrition class and went to the prep room to lie down cuz it was close, I didn't even have the strength to walk to the sick bay.
I don't even know how the thought came to my mind to rub my saliva all over my tummy, but I did and it stopped!!!
Yea yea I know it's disgusting but that thing helped my life till a friend of mine told me to avoid sugary things a week to my period and it helped too, then I had kids and painful menstruation carried it's wahala and left me alone.
Funny enough my mum also told me that same thing bout saliva after I had my first child
