British Lady Cries Out After Nigerian Husband Flees Shortly After He Arrived The UK.
Dawn Otewell, a 68-year-old British Grandmother from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire met Bright Emokpa, from Edo State on two different dating apps in 2021, they later got married in Cyprus March, 2022. After which, Bright returned to Nigeria to apply for a UK spouse visa.
Bright joined her a year later after his visa was approved. She alleged that he became distant after moving to the UK, saying he kept asking her for money while refusing to contribute to household expenses but sending money to Nigeria regularly. The coupled got separated in 2023 but came back together six months later, after Dawn Received £63,000 as compensation settlement following a botched medical procedure.
Bright left shortly after Dawn returned from a £2000 Caribbean cruise with her brother right before Christmas 2024 and has not returned since. Dawn accused Bright of refusing to sign the divorce papers, as she believes he wants to hold unto his spouse visa. Dawn fears Bright could claim her Possession as she doesn't have a will.
