The House of Representatives says it traced 58 bank accounts and 39 workers to the alleged fake Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC. The House ad hoc committee investigating the council disclosed this on Wednesday during its sitting, saying preliminary financial information showed that more than 30 of the accounts were apparently operated in the names of about nine agencies and companies.

Troops of the Guards Brigade, Nigerian Army, have rescued Mrs Adonkie, the wife of Brig. Gen. Basil Adonkie (rtd.), hours after she was abducted from her residence in Abuja. The Brigade disclosed this in a special situation report made available to NSN on Wednesday. The report said Mrs Adonkie was abducted at about 10:30 pm on September 1, prompting the deployment of troops in a coordinated pursuit of the kidnappers.

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has vowed that any local government chairman who fails to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 elections will be removed. He said this in Abakaliki, the state capital, during the inauguration of the new chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of the 13 Local Government Areas.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has warned that artificial intelligence-driven disinformation poses a serious threat to the credibility of the 2027 general elections, calling for electoral technology and communication to be treated as a single discipline. The INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, also disclosed that the commission was conducting a comprehensive audit of its electoral technology systems and considering a mock presidential election to test its readiness ahead of the polls.

A Celestial Church of Christ evangelist, Abidemi Odukoya, and his wife, Adenike, have reportedly died in separate circumstances following an alleged domestic altercation at their residence in the Akinode/Ibogun community, Ogun State. It was learnt that the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, August 25, after the couple allegedly engaged in a domestic dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation.

A former Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Secretary-General of Uwheru Kingdom, Chief Edewor Akpedafe, has been hospitalised after he was allegedly attacked by suspected political thugs in Ughelli, Delta State.
Akpedafe is currently receiving treatment at the Central Hospital, Ughelli, after he was allegedly brutally beaten during a meeting in the area.
He was reportedly left with serious injuries following the incident.

A US-based political advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, says it has reported to the United States Department of Justice, DOJ, the $3 million offer to stop the probe into alleged drug trafficking linked to Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu.
Von Batten-Montague-York made this statement in a post on its verified X handle on Thursday.
Recall that the firm said its leader, Dr. Von Batten, refused the offers and preserved copies of the exchanges.

Atiku Abubakar’s camp has replied the Presidency, saying it is avoiding the real issues by attacking US lobbyist Karl Von Batten.
Atiku’s aide, Phrank Shaibu, said the matter is about documents already available in the United States, including a civil forfeiture case involving four hundred and sixty thousand dollars linked to an account bearing President Tinubu’s name. He noted that the case was not a criminal conviction but said the records remain public.
Shaibu also defended Atiku’s one point two million dollar lobbying deal, saying it was properly registered under the US Foreign Agents Registration Act. He then questioned the Federal Government’s own lobbying expenses, alleging that the Tinubu administration hired DCI Group for seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars per month, amounting to four point five million dollars in six months, with provisions that could push the total to nine million dollars.
He said the Presidency should explain its own spending before criticising the opposition and added that Nigerians are more concerned about rising costs and insecurity than political back‑and‑forth....

With regards to this "case" they are doing everything to protect. I saw a video of a top "olusho" in Nigeria, advising the "head" to do everything he can to protect it from going public and one keeps wondering 🤔 hmmmmm....
