Real Housewives of Lagos ( RHOL) star, Carolyna Hutchings has officially announced her decision to close the curtain on the RHOL show.
In a series of posts she shared on her Instagram page, she cited the disrespect being associated with the show has brought her and the Father of her children as part of her reasons for putting an end to it.
She said also announced starting a new chapter and moving on to other things.

IT IS EXHAUSTING BEING PART OF A REALITY TV SHOW IN NIGERIA...
This is my last note on this subject before I close the curtain.
For over two decades, I have been in the entertainment industry. I have featured in over 60 movies, produced and shot three award-winning films locally and internationally, created jobs for over 500 people and talents, contributed financially and positively to the entertainment industry, used my brand to advocate for the less privileged and created opportunities for investors as a member of Nollywood.
I genuinely enjoy being in front of the camera. I love storytelling, acting and make-believe just as much as I love construction, manufacturing and interior design. I simply enjoy fulfilling my dreams, building businesses and living life to the fullest, on my own terms.
But beyond all of that, I am an extreme introvert.
I love my space. I naturally gravitate towards people I love and whose energy resonates with mine. I am very selective and intentional about the energy I allow into my space. Those I call confidants and friends have been in my life for a decade and, in many cases, much longer.
I have said this several times, but apparently it needs to be said again:
NO CAST MEMBER OF RHOL IS MY FRIEND NOT ON THE SHOW, NOT AFTER THE SHOW.
My kindness should never be mistaken for friendship.
I do not throw the word friend around carelessly. Those who were my friends, presumably years before the show, know exactly why those relationships collapsed during the show. And that is okay. There was closure, and everyone moved on.
What I find unfair is that a show that ended in the first two months of 2025 is still being used to define who I am in 2026.
A show I participated in for entertainment purposes has been used to redefine and rewrite my experiences, my expertise, my career, my private life, my life as a mother and my life as a woman – with people attaching every narrative they deem necessary to me.
Let me tell my story myself.
Before the show, I had a life.
During the show, I had a life.
After the show, I still have a life.
And that life exists far beyond the cast members.
I made it clear repeatedly on the show which was aired on a steaming platform, across my social media platforms and even during my interview on a national tv station TVC which was aired on January 9th, 2025, that I do not do cliques or friendships on RHOL.
If I have an issue with someone, I address that person directly, as I have always done fearlessly. That is how I have lived my life.
Recently, there was a dispute between two cast members and somehow my video was circulated and used to demean one of them over a matter I have absolutely no interest in.
Keep me out of it.
On another occasion, a write up I made specifically to promote MY MOVIE was attached to cast members of RHOL, despite the fact that I clearly stated in another post at the same time that I was producing two movies and preparing for a book launch.
Then came the unnecessary narratives, the insults directed at the father of my children who is doing a fantastic job as a father and labels attached to me that simply are not who I am.
As an award winning actress and producer with over two decades of experience, I find it appalling that my career, achievements and body of work can be reduced to 13 episodes of a reality TV show.
It is 2026. Let it stop.
I am focused.
I am minding my business.
I am building, creating, working and living according to the goals I have set for myself. Every single day is an intentional effort not to fail, because I have goals I want to achieve by a certain age, God willing.
I am in competition with NO ONE but my past self.
Whatever happened on the show stays on the show.
That should be respected.
I chose silence, not because I am weak, but because I am genuinely tired of the constant back and forth on social media by bloggers and commenters.
I have far too much on my table to achieve.
I am too busy, too intentional and far too mature for online banter.
I understand the love people have for the show. I really do, and that is appreciated.
But please understand this from me:
THE SHOW IS OVER FOR ME. I HAVE MOVED ON.
I am living my life.
I am doing what I love.
I am happy.
I am enjoying my reality.
I am building a legacy my children will be proud of.
The show was a chapter of my life that I enjoyed. That chapter is closed.
It is a new dawn, and I believe it is leading to something even more beautiful.
So please:
DO NOT ATTACH ME TO ANY CAST MEMBER, THEIR LIFE, THEIR DISPUTES OR THEIR PERSONAL BUSINESS. I DO NOT CARE.
I am a happy go lucky woman, but I do not tolerate disrespect.
I will always speak my truth, protect my peace and address anything that concerns me when and if necessary.
My silence should NEVER be mistaken for weakness.
There is power in silence, and there is a time for everything.
If I ever have a dispute with anyone, trust me, I will address the individual directly and, if necessary, use their full government name as I always do on social media .
Or I will take the matter to the appropriate authorities if I believe my character is being defamed by the individual directly or I am being directly threatened.
I am far too confident and intelligent to allow anyone to fight my battles for me. As you are well aware, whenever there has ever been a dispute involving me, I come with facts and receipts. I don’t go through the corners.
I am also never one to start drama, but I am patient enough to see it through to the very end.
So, for now:
KEEP ME OUT OF ANYTHING RHOL RELATED.
I remain forever grateful to the producers, the amazing streaming platform Showmax and African magic, working with you all on your maiden edition of RHOL was simply amazing, it was also fun working with you all in season 3. A memorable experience I hold dear to my heart as an actress, writer, film producer .. I learnt a whole new world of creativity. Thank you.
If I decide to return for another season, trust me, I will deliver excellently, as I always do whether as the saint or the villain .
Until then, that decision is mine and mine alone.
Regardless, the show must go on.
And as an award winning filmmaker and actress, I have far more to do, create and accomplish.
But for now...
LET ME ENJOY MY REALITY IN PEACE.
This is the umpteenth time I am saying this, and I will not be addressing it again.
LEAVE ME OUT OF THE DRAMA.
Thank you

She wrote,
" THE CURTAIN CLOSES ON RHOL.
Before RHOL there was Carolyna the actress. Carolyna the producer. Carolyna the storyteller.
For over two decades, I have worked, created and built in this industry with over 60 movies, award-winning productions and now 10 movies in the pipeline with an incredible team of writers, producers, crew and actors.
Our work, our sacrifices and our creativity deserve to stand on their own.
I have entertained you through RHOL just as I have entertained you through the many movies I have been privileged to be a part of. But reality television is one chapter, not the definition of my career or my reality.
So, officially, I am closing this chapter.
Thank you for the love, the support and every moment shared along the way.
Now, back to what I have always been a filmmaker, an actress and a storyteller.
RHOL was a chapter.
Carolyna is the story.
And the story continues"
