Pinky's CORNER

A woman in Ibadan narrowly escaped losing her phone and purse after a pickpocket quietly stole both inside a Keke ...
The thief had slipped the items out of her bag during heavy traffic and, then quickly dropped off at the nearest stop, pretending he “forgot something.”

Moments later, the woman noticed her phone was missing. The Keke rider immediately drove into a nearby filling station and, having watched the thief through his side mirror, ran after him.
A passenger joined the chase.
The thief was caught off‑guard. When confronted, he was found with four different phones.
The woman instantly identified her missing phone and purse. Bystanders joined in, and after he failed to unlock the other phones, it became clear they were stolen. He was handed over to the police.

By morning, the Keke rider confirmed that calls came in on the stolen phones, helping police trace their owners.
Incidents like this have become common in Ibadan. Some thieves operate alone, others work with Keke riders.
Many residents now prefer sitting beside the rider to monitor faces and movements.
Stay alert, trust your instincts, and may God protect us from these boys causing trouble everywhere. One victim recently paid for a crime he didn’t commit after his stolen WhatsApp was used to scam others all because he didn’t file a police report.
