He compared Nigeria’s past economic situation to a cancer patient whose leaders kept choosing “morphine” instead of real treatment. According to him, his administration chose to “excise the cancer,” leading to difficult reforms but long‑term stability.
Tinubu highlighted improvements including reduced oil theft, rebuilt foreign reserves, stabilised FX markets, and record non‑oil export revenue of over $6 billion. He said international observers and investors have acknowledged the progress.
He declared that the era of emergency treatment is over and Nigeria is now focused on shared prosperity, cheaper food, lower production costs, better infrastructure, job creation, industrial growth, and support for vulnerable households.
Tinubu said:
“Nigeria has corrected its course. We have passed through our own Red Sea. This is not the time to look back.”
He urged citizens to stay hopeful, saying the “Promised Land” ahead is a Nigeria of abundance, opportunity, and dignity for all.
