“We have told parents of children at the 1886 schools shut down by the state government to relocate their wards before the commencement of the next academic session.By September, we shall fully implement measures aimed at strengthening the state education sector. We want to maintain a standard that will uplift education in the state".
Governor Wike said that education is critical in the administration’s agenda to transform the state and empower the people.
He regretted that most illegal schools have become WAEC magic centres where examination malpractice is promoted.
The governor said that measures have been put in place to check the springing up of illegal schools in different parts of the state.

ReplyDeleteWhat PDP can do. The best party ever, Nigerians ntoor with your change.
ReplyDeleteYeah, which is why the APC states have a higher aggregate pass, right?
DeleteGood move...i wish other states follow this step
ReplyDeleteThat's good oh. And thses schools their fees are not here .
ReplyDeleteNice one.
ReplyDeleteWhat is good about what wike did. Talking about standard schools how many parents can actually afford the fees. Even the public schools cannot accommodated the population. Do u know the amount of jobs too that will be lost. This Wike guy is too in a haste to take decisions. Wike's Government has been nothing but noise. Port Harcourt is now very dirty I call it Garbage city and not garden city. All he does is to repair roads and commission no new constructions or innovative projects in Rivers state.
ReplyDeleteIf you cannot afford a standard school for your wards please send them to a government school, government schools actually have the best trained teachers in Nigéria, best NCE holders,BSC holders and they are not picked based on interveiws ,the best are picked after a very instense exam,so i concur with what Wike is doing, just my street alone has 6 schools and 7 churches, you will see a church that just came out yesterday the next thing is school inside one small space and they will use boards to demarcate it.
