Former VP Atiku Abubakar Officially Resigns From PDP

Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a letter dated July 14, 2025 addressed to the PDP Chairman, Jada 1 Ward, Adamawa State, Atiku expressed “heartbreak” over leaving the party and stated that the PDP had strayed from its founding principles.
He thanked the party for the opportunities to serve as Vice President and contest for the presidency twice.

  2. If he had allowed Peter Obi to contest under pdp I strongly believe that he would have won the 2023 election.

    1. Which one is 'if he had allowed ...'? Are they both not free citizens of Nigeria? Why must one citizen wait for another to 'allow' him contest under the umbrella of a political party, when the 'allowee' claim not to be a slave to the 'allower'?
Why do you and your people like to play the victim always?

  5. He should officially resign from politics.
Peter Obi should go back to PDP, leave this ADC that's full of internally displaced politicians and give APC a run for their money.

  8. Someone that should be in the position of a kingmaker now. But no, he also wants to bear the title of president. None of them has the interests of the masses at heart. Selfish lots.
