The attackers shot residents, burned homes, shops, and even the local palace and many lives were lost ......
The death toll from the Nigerian Red Cross put at least 162 people dead as search efforts continued for more victims.
The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has visited the area with security chiefs and other officials.
He said 75 local Muslims were killed because they refused to follow a "strange doctrine" pushed by extremists.
He described the attack as a desperate move by terrorist groups facing pressure from ongoing military operations in the state.
The governor condemned the violence and noted that President Bola Tinubu approved the launch of Operation Savannah Shield. This includes sending an army battalion to carry out counter-offensives and restore calm.

Lives means nothing to these extremist. So sad.😢
