SPOUSE IS EVERYWHERE SHINE YOUR EYES
I decided to go to a particular mall to cool off my head just to shop for one or 2 things. There was my husband walking in like a pro.
I didn't actually notice him that much, not until he said hi, I responded casually and quickly took my leave. In my mind, i was like, look at this one, you want to finish the heart wey remain small from heartbreak to heart failure. Lol.
Later I got a call from him, honestly, I couldn't believe my eyes. I asked who gave him my number, after much struggles of getting me, he decided to disclose the person that gave him my number.
It was the cashier.
I dashed into that shop one day and made a slight scene with her but she ended up being one of my bridesmaids at my wedding. Lol.
She is soooo precious to me till date after 24 yrs. I spoilt her with gifts on her wedding day.
God is great. Go out, be wise, be smart and be careful. May the good LORD answer all our secret prayers. Amen.
All the best to everyone. I just thought to share.
I decided to share something positive for once make our mouth rest for advice.....You are even lucky that the cashier did not give him a wrong number

This was interesting to read. π

ReplyDeleteWere there mobile phones 24 years ago? If landlines,it numbers weren't shared like that those days naa? Especially in stores/loyalty customers πππ
DeleteWell, except you meant 14 years ago.
Yes, there were. 090 was the nickname for mobile phones, and they were in Nigeria in the early 1990s. The boom in cell phones happened in the late 1990s in Nigeria. So, mobile phones have been in Nigeria for at least 30 years.
Delete24 years ago was 2002 and yes, there were mobile phones then
DeleteWow. Tears may flow in the night but joy cometh in the morning. May your marriage be blessed and last for all your years, everyday being happier than the one before❤️

Good post
How did cashier know your phone number madam? Were you friends with her or what? Make una dey give complete gist abeg!
ReplyDeleteLikely to be from loyalty profile. All the mid to big size store I use will ask for your number or card to add your purchase to your loyalty profile.
DeleteYou like gist ππ
DeleteMost high brow stores collect ask for your name and phone number when preparing your receipt. They also send messages thanking you for your patronage and inform you when they have new stock. Some call to say hi if you are a regular and they haven’t seen you in a while!
DeleteI pondered on this too...
DeleteIf it were a current incident, I would have thought the cashier got her number through a membership card, that certain shops offer for points and discounts. Or perhaps through a mobile money transfer.
But since this was 24 years ago, the only thing that could fit, would be a cheque - and her having to endorse it with her details.
Anons 15:58 and 17:06...
DeleteBoth of you clearly missed the 24 years ago part. Shops weren't doing what you described 2+ decades ago...
Was this a thing 24 years ago?
DeleteWow,I love this
ReplyDeleteI'm encouraged.

ReplyDeleteIt appears many younger folks think a lot of things are new in Nigeria. Cellphones became very common in Nigeria since 1999 when Obj liberalized the Telco sector. People have been using S-classes, Rolls etc for 50 years in Nigeria. I got married in 1994 and my father-in-law had 2 S-classes, which were not even his first.
ReplyDeleteSome had Volvos which were popular then. There have been mansions in the SW since the early 70s so the constant shade on TikTok about “brown roof “ is due to ignorance. There are probably more mansions in Ibadan than some entire regions. Bodija is the first housing estate in Ibadan and it’s bigger than some towns. That nobody takes inventory of the number of housing units in specific areas is why exaggerations, insults, inaccurate conclusions and unnecessary bragging exists.
As far back as the 80s, late Chief Oni of the old moneyed construction firm; Oni & Sons gifted Oyo state one of his mansions which later became “Oni Memorial Children” hospital. Kind of like the N34bn Hospital that the richest African woman, Mrs Alakija gave to Osun state university.
That you woke up at 11am doesn’t mean folks didn’t wake up at 3am or that the day started at 11am, it’s just when you woke up. It’s the mentality that makes some think Nollywood started in 1992 with living in bondage when Scalia cinema had been operating in Ibadan since the. 60s and folks like Hubert Ogunde, Ade Love etc had made movies decades before. The truth is that the regions advanced and embraced advancements at different times and the bs on SM by some folks made me realize they aren’t well informed or exposed as I used to think.
The internet and SM and indeed Nigeria leveled everygroup. Lagos had telephones in the late 1800s BEFORE many European countries. Yes, Obj introduced the era of common crllphones. We used Starcoms which I used to move around in my car prior to that. Of course we had a landline which very many did not have at the time.
Wow... Lucky you..
