Daniel Oikhena 13 year-old Stowaway Visits Gov Oshiomole....Gets Scholarship.

Daniel Oikhena, the young stowaway on Benin-Lagos plane flanked by Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and Mr George Uriesi, MD/CEO Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria during a courtesy visit of FAAN management staff to the Governor in Benin City, wednesday 11th September 2013.

Governor Adams Oshiomole had this to say regarding Daniel

'' “without meaning to encourage anyone else, we decided to support him by sending him to one of the top secondary schools in Edo State that is owned by the Government. The reason for opting for a boarding school is that we think that there need to closely watch him which his parents could not do. “He is an intelligent young man with uncommon challenges, but one that has a vision. We had him examined by people who should know and the result confirmed that he is normal”, Oshiomhole noted. “This incident was probably the kind of trigger that we needed to improve the facilities at our Airports. ......''

*I cannot help but laugh at his smiley face...Daniel has become a celebrity of some sort and it is good that good education is being provided for him.....however,with the way he is being celebrated,I pray another young man does not attempt this.

    2. All they do in Nigeria is just to encourage terrorism, then when it gets out of hand they will start crying! Y are they treating this boy like 1 hero?? He s a desperate child!! Are there no kids who are rly suffering in d country nd who av nt involved in any stupid act?? Y not look into d matters of those ones, y are they celebrating dis 1?? Even if they want to send him to skul they sld av just don't done it privately nt taking shots wif d governor like some kinda hero!! I think ill method is d way in this country! They celebrate evil. Naija think! Dis is my opinion. You don't av to insult me if your opinion is different.

  3. ok here's how this's gonna unfold:

Father: Johnbull i got a present for you
Son: But papa, this na toy plane nau
Father:yes study it and know how to get into a plane without being noticed
    Son: But papa why nau
Father: So you can also get a scholarship like Daniel and become famous
Son: papa trust me nau i be waffy boy o. me go enter plane land for america begin send you dollar

That's how it starts. If Danny can do it then believe me bokoharam can do better. Instead of scolding the boy or better still discretely helping him to be a better person this people are encouraging and giving people ideas to commit atrocities.

  20. I swear, Nigerian politicians are all d same.. PDP, ACP and all other P's. All these gestures, jes to score cheap political points.. Is this the kind of behavior that should be celebrated publicly? Now every street kid wiv family issues will definitely wanna pull a stunt(s) of their own.. Even some parents wld also encourage their children to pull stunts too... Chai, this country is sumfin else

  31. This has got to be the most determined\ fearless lad of the century! I want to get into his head.I need to know what was running through his mind while up there clinging to life. Was he scared? Was he optimistic? I second that he be sent to a military school. This raw bravery which is beyond comprehension, must be utilised positively. This boy's story, is what documentaries we watch on discovery and Zone ~reality channels are made of! Signed:wide eyed!

run away where? for a boy that age to attempt the stunt he pulled points to total hopelessness, trust me within the time he has met those who gave him a scholarship and the governor and others his confidence, hope would have been rekindled.
i was reading a story somewhere online about the efcc employing a computer hacker that they arrested and jailed as a staff, now the guy is not only helping them immensely but wrote a programme that is being used to catch people
