Doctors In House Section.

OMG!

3YEAR OLD WITH STAPH....

My 3yr  old baby has a smelling vaginal, I noticed that when I stopped wearing diapers for her but I didnt  take it as anything, but one morning after she had her bath, I noticed a whitish discharge small quantity out of her vaginal, so I called a doctor friend and told me to take her to do a vagina swap test which was done and the result came out to be positive to staphylococcus.

The doctor asked me to buy her flaggy and zinnat and give her for 8 days which was done.during the treatment her pant was so clean and no smells but immediately after the completion of the drugs, the vagina started smelling again like an adult,i am sure there is no sexual abuse cos I drop her in school and pick her up myself and no male teacher in her school.

Please what else can I do to treat this smell cos i am tired.

    1. Madam take her to another hospital and change all her clothing, undies, towels, bedsheet and I think you should also change her school. I know how difficult and expensive this would be but you have to save her from future damages.

    1. Please woman your Doctor needs to educate you properly not all staphs are sexually transmitted. Bacterias are everywhere on our skin, tho I've never heard it happen to a child so forgive my ignorance....
However please I suspect your BABY'S TOWEL. Since its re-infection throw the towel away immediately and replace with a new one, also put her towel out to dry after use I mean directly under the sun, u can also throw away all her old undies also after peeing she can use baby wipes or tissue and also she needs to stop using her school toilet I don't know of a better alternative to that but I'm certain this would end it.

    1. A sample was apparently collected from the outer part of the vagina with a swab stick(looks like a cotton bud)

It is usually in sexually active females, speculums are used. Depending on the severity of your case too.

  7. Wow! This is serious, anyway dunno if a kid can use this drug...try it Dazel Kit, it will eliminate the smell and the discharge. Som1 must have infected her, trust me u can't tell me u have got ur eyes on her 24|7.. stylishly ask her if anybody touched it in a playful way. From now on tell her not to allow anybody touch that except mummy during bath. Children will always tell u the truth as long as you aren't harsh on them, tease them and they will tell you the truth innocently

It might be from home n not school. Remove sentiment n use ur head. Look closely. Goodluck. N may God heal her.

  13. Do you wear her one brand of diapers? You may need to change. Also investigate very well what goes on at that school. It's unusual for a 3 year old to have a Staph infection. Very unusual.

  18. While you were giving her the drugs did you change her underpants ? Please whatever drugs you are giving her again, please change her underpants and use your hands to wash them urself and rinse with savlon before spreading

    ReplyDelete
  19. It doesn't have to be sexually transmitted although we can't possibly rule out d possibilities and 4d fact dt it's an all female teachers like u said means nothing...having said that,

What ur child has is methicillin resistant staph and ur child if she isn't immunocompromised,is likely suffering from d community acquired strain and ds strain is difficult to treat in children and hence d reoccurence.

It's easily transmitted from skin contact, sharing of toys and what have u.

If ur kid comes in close contact with with people @d day care centr, school, play ground, she can contract it cos it's community acquired.

Asides giving her drugs,u have to teach ur daughter personal hygiene, dts d only way of preventing it to some extent,u cld get a hand sanitizer, prolly alcohol based and tell her to use it each time she touches, finishes playing or preferably tell her to wash her hand

  20. Isn't staphylococcus usually sexually transmitted?

Plus, it's not only a male teacher that is capable of infecting the child.

    This is shocking though.

    Abeg, go meet a paediatrician.

  24. Staphylococcus aureus is a bacteria commonly found on the skin, a disposition of the normal habitat can cause an infection in the wrong place found. Yes staph infection is unusual among kids but it's quite common these days mostly due to poor hygiene . At three you should stop the use of diaper for your kid I think she's old enough to handle a potty while at home. Then try and observe if she is reacting badly to the diaper being used. Stop the use of scented soaps to wash her vagina, the only way to stop recurrent staph is good hygiene. Make sure she takes lots of water. If you still do bubble baths for her pls stop and use the showers or pour water directly on her In the bath instead.( imean dnt allow her sit in bubble baths). When you want to change her diaper ensure to do the proper wiping( front to back) also check if she's reacting to the wipes being used! pass the wiping info across to her teachers. Pls and pls always wash your hands before changing her diapers. I'll even advisee you to change the diaper she's using, her underwear and also inform her female teachers to wash thier hands before changing her diapers. I dnt think it's because she's being viloated tho because I have seen cases of children who has staph and were not viloated but please to rule out that fact, check properly. Lastly. Staphs are kinda difficult to treat due to their re occurrence and most times resistance to antibiotics. Please take your daughter to a paediatrician who would conduct tests so as to rule out methicilin resistant staph auerus (MRSA) if you are able to keep a good personal hygiene, the re occurrence should stop. Good luck!

  26. Mother,
This is really very simple. Stop asking questions here when u know what to do!
Pls take her to the hospital and let them conduct an extensive test(s) on her. Pls, she's too little to suffer such.
Then, they know exactly wat drugs to give her.
2ndly, all her under pants, either u recycle all of them(soak in very hot water with dettol) or u throw them away & buy her new sets...

  32. Consult another doctor. In case you have been wiping her vigina from back to front, kindly discontinue doing that. Try wiping her from front to back. That way lil poop from her anus won't accidental get in to her vigina, which in turn causes infection or irritation within or inside that area.

  33. Poster please take your daughter to see a GOOD gynecologist. Let them check inside her vagina for a foreign bodies, like tissue or a piece of cotton from her pampers or wipe which may have entered inside her vagina. Because i believe that might be her problem. If so the gynecologist have to clean inside of baby's vagina. It happened to my daughter for years, until they clean her vagina. Give her antibiotics it will stop as she is on it, but once she stop taking it, the odour will come back stronger with discharge as an adult. Don't worry much just take her to a good gynecologist. You can also google more on foreign bodies in children (vaginitis in children) you can comment under my post if all is not clear to you. Don't worry your princess will be fine, thank God you notice it early.
