Vincent Enyeama's Retirement From The National Team-The Past Coming To Roost?

The news of the sudden retirement of Nigeria's skipper,Vincent Enyeama, has come as a shock to many a football-loving Nigerian.

It would be recalled that there was a rumored altercation between the skipper and the coach of the Eagles

According to Enyeama on his instagram page 'vinny 2908'

After 13 years of national service, having this smile on my face and this passion in my heart. Through the billows, the waves of the ocean, the tears of defeat, the sound of rejoicing from victory chants. Now the thought of BEING STRIPPED NAKED and security agents throwing me out breaks me completely.
“I will take anything but not insult to my dead mother.”

It would be recalled that Coach Oliseh in his playing days
(1)was also thrown out of the Êagles camp

(2)was stripped of his captainship

 (3)insulted his coach

(4)the altercation led to his retirement from national football.

(4) These train of events led to the eventual sack of his own coach Amodu Shuaibu.

Is Karma trying to pay back Oliseh in his own coin?

Time will tell....

  6. The only thing I see in this whole brouhaha is the Insult on his Late Mother. Shikena.
    Who does that?
Let Oliseh apologise and let Enyeama follow suit with his own apology. Both of them erred personally. And everything will be fine. Many Nigerians have mutual attraction to Enyeama. Both young and old. He should consider that.

I love the side his wife took.
The day a mechanic slapped my mother in law, DH put him inside booth and locked him for some seconds. I'm eye clear.
Whatever, don't abuse any man's mother. Dead or Living. They brood a lot over such.

  20. Let's cut Sunday Oliseh some slacks biko and quit the sentiments.

Oliseh has the right to discipline his team whichever he pleases and if it doesn't sit right with any player, you either re-adjust, move out or risk forceful removal..

Oliseh has a job to do and he has Bosses he's answerable to and not forgetting Nigerian fans too..

Who's Enyema to talk back to his coach, can he try that with a Monrihno/Wenger? I forgot that his coach was Oliseh...

Enyeama stop making this about your mother's burial biko, the truth is that none is indispensable... Fine you were in mourning and no one expects you to be in camp, you went late and when we do things like this, we send a negative vibe/message and your Coach has the right to correct/shoutdown/bundle you of camp.

Oliseh has a job to do and because of your sense of entitlement and irresponsible behavior, we lost yesterday's match!!

No be we kill your mama biko!!!

  22. Stella Kork...u're over-flogging this issue too much! Why?

All those who work in Enyeama's PR team deserves a raise. They played this one out to perfection! Absolute perfection! And Nigerians are playing right into their hands, just like they thought we would.

Pele left the Brazilian team & they still won the world cup thereafter. Ballack left the Germans & they still won the world cup.

Players come & go, but the institution (the Super Eagles) will remain & it's ministry will move to its permanent site!!!

You forgot to add that he walked the then Minister of Sports out of a meeting,
He ceeated a mafia in the Super Eagles team, sidelining Rasheed Yekini and the others,
They would even go as far as telling the coach what players would be play matches.
    Arrogance personified.
Yes Enyeama must have been disrespectful but Oliseh is the last person to complain about indiscipline.

  32. Oliseh as Super Eagles captain had the effrontery to insult a sitting Sports Minister (Late Mark Aku). That led to his sack from the national team. Some players also left the team in solidarity to Oliseh. People like Victor Agali them.

Oliseh has succeeded in pushing Enyeama away. Did anyone notice that Mikel rejected the captain's armband when Musa was leaving the field during the match against Congo. Kenneth Omeruo has also written a tribute to Enyeama. We wait and see.

Let's stop sounding like broken records by playing this Oliseh & Enyeama's track over & over again. Enof already!!!

  36. When things happen ppl rather than condemn the wrong, rationalise wrong doing with 'karma'. Now karma is a pagan belief and not a living entity. I know we have uncountable number of pagans masquerading as Christians. So what ppl who cite karma are saying is that enyama is suffering his own karma. Good. In that case everyone who is wronged is suffering his own karma and so henceforth no one should complain anytime they are iltreated because it is their karma as we are now made to believe. So no one should ever claim to a innocent victim now that we are told that whatever injustice or harm that meets one is his/her karma. But then bad is bad no Mather who does it or is there no more bad?

  37. Stella calm down you don't know how football works.
1st you don't quit voluntarily on your nation.
You mentioned Oliseh's ego what about Enyeama's
He was probably stripped of the captainship because every new coach wants his own leader...not a soon to be fading force..ask Casiillas..Gerrard..
But no 9jas ego..he probs started cussing Oliseh out presumably..and security had to step in..
There are 3 sides to every story..I blame Oliseh for not clearing the air...that's why Enyeama is winning the emotional sentiments ..guess Stella is one of them..why not call Oliseh..if na 2face matter you go call to confirm innit!!
