The Ooni who is spreading a message of peace and Unity in Yorubaland and beyond Prayed for Peace for the Entire Yorubaland so that there will be progress and development....

My candid observation about this visit. Judging from the Awujale's countenance.. he doesn't seem in the least impressed or interested by this visit to him. Yes this was a wise gesture from the Ooni to initiate peace amongst the yoruba leaders. But not all of them seem interested.
ReplyDeleteWe all saw how warm and receptive the Alaafin was when the Ooni visited him. Pictures tell a lot of untold stories. Take a look at the Awujale..and you'll see what I'm saying.
Also, the Awujale did not attend the Ooni's coronation. And this has nothing to do with the long time feud btw Awujale and the ooni's predecessor.. it's beyond what the Ooni can just take a dive into. There's a lot of resentment towards him personally, and it'll take more than this visit and a while for the older obas to reconcile Ogunwusi with that seat he inherited. This I know.
I suggest he allows things happen naturally without making it look like a charade, or that he's trying to be "heroic" so that he gets credit for restoring peace. Don't get me wrong, I like his gesture as a young man.. he's being wise. But not may will see it as such. It is quite an impressive move that he has made so far.. but.... it is deeper than this.
