Make una dey drag right na, the bible say women be submissive to ur husband, it didn't say drag who owns d home with ur husband, they shud fling DAT bill through d red chambers windows, the women have proven themselves not trust worthy in previous administration, they were our only hope to a better Nigeria, instead dey looted and goofed more than d men from pat to stella....

Women shud focus on helping d man and not tryna be in dsame level with d man....

My 2cent opinion, u don't like it shove yours down ur anus

    2. Oga what does the bible have to do with the bill? Is Nigeria married to women? we are a secular nation not religious...I don't understand some people's reasoning thought. Nigeria has been ran by men through out its 50something years of independence and see where we are. The only time we were good (although under slavery) was when we were ruled by the queen...a woman! The bill is to put men and women on the same platform. And if we are as civilised as we claim then we should have gender equality. But people like you are the ones to mal treat your wife and still cheat on her without apologies because you have a tiny penis between your legs and believe it's your right. Plz stop this show of your ignorance and hide behind your mother little man. I'm so ashamed for most Nigerians, we really have a long way to go. The change we need is to first change our mentality, our views and processing thought, if not Nigeria will never change. Smh

    3. O please shut up Evans!!! You're a typical definition of how Nigerians celebrate mediocrity.
Your 2 cents of opinion should be shoved with your myopic self and dumped to be found.

Its not like we bite nd even if we do its not like dey cant dill with it. This doznt even make any sense. Pls stop maltreating women, stop treating dem like ur slaves both sexes re humans, yes women re d weaker sex but even us hav ryts, deaz notin wrong in givin women higher position at work Dan men or women or earn higher than men and take care of dia homes. Pls women learn to stand up for itself. U re not a trophy nor are u a price. U re u dnt let anyone two bit douche tell u otherwise

    1. You need to change the company of men you keep. No one is scared of educated women, It is a patriarchal issue which is mostly prominent in our various traditional systems. The northerners feel every woman is a slave to the male folks and so does it go. These days female graduates are even a little more favoured than their male counterparts cos their sugar daddies get them jobs and empower them with money for business et al. This is Nigeria, a land where laws are bent to suit the influential and to distort the ordinary.

    2. Gender inequality does not stop women from being educated, has anyone stopped you from getting education?and who said nigerian men are scared of educated women?

      Delete
    3. And who treats women like slaves ?

      Delete
    4. Nigeria men not scared of educated women. They are only scared of getting close to most of them that lacks manner of approach and carries their certificate for head like gala sellers. Most of them has forgotten the fact that no matter ur level of education/exposure, u shld still be under a man and respect him but most of them the educated women will tell u they can't be under a man as in like they wont allow any man to tell them what to do or control their lives. Most of them educated women feels that they can buy what ever they want and can do whatever they like without even letting the man know her movement. So if u are a man will u marry such woman? Especially the self centered ones.

  10. gender equality is a broad topic:the men that are against this bill thought in the figment of their imagination that women will drag equal position with them, others felt it should be two men to two women in any sector but I have this to say that equality depend on the way the man or woman perceive it to be.i am against gender based violent and domestic violet against women. However, women should not equate themselves with men in any way.

    ReplyDelete

    1. OMG you just mirrored my thoughts. I implied this in the earlier post. Again I reiterate, it is indeed a broad topic based on perception. That's all.

  11. Am not surprised. Am a woman and simply don't feel women will ever have equal rights with men. Why? Men are the main product! Women are the byproducts! Argue all u want, the woman came out of a man, my mentality might sound so 1300 but doesn't change the truth! "Read my lips"!

    2. Please evolve into 2016 my dear, where Hillary Clinton a WOMAN, might soon become the president of the USA, where sirleaf a WOMAN, is the president of Liberia, where the powerful monarchy in England is headed by a woman the Queen. Your mentality is not the truth, but it's your truth.

      Delete
    3. My sister, please I'm not a by-product you hear?

      Omo! See comment! Hian!!!

    4. If you still have this mentality at this time and age, then I sorry for you.

      Delete
    5. Women are byproducts right...
Guess it would be considered ok if u were abducted and married off to Senator Yerima since ur a byproduct....idiot

      Delete
    6. You're right, you're mentality is way too archaic it's a wonder how you're surviving in this modern world.Arguing with you will be a total waste of precious time and energy.

    7. Glory, na you be byproduct you hear???? I am no byproduct!!! I came out of a woman's body, just like a man; I eat the same food that men eat; I take the same drugs to heal me that men take; I sleep on the same type of bed that men sleep on; I go to the same schools that men go to; I work in the same office that men work in. The Lord put men as head over his OWN household, not over every woman. You are a foolish woman Glory, the truth you spoke is your own truth, not mine!!! Olodo!!!

    9. Chai, I knew this topic would cause a perpetual furor. And I'm sure the anonymous didn't mean 'by product' as being substandard.

Huhh..this argument will be a struggle to many I can see. Sigh

  12. Word, Jerry!!

    Word!

That's why we're still as backward as the Red Indians of old.

When it comes to the part that puts women at a disadvantage, double standards then come into play.

The world will evolve into a better place, when women are given equal rights in the society,as men.

Meanwhile, i'm a feminist and I'm not ashamed to say it.
It gets me side eyes and snide remarks, especially, when I say it in the presence of men.

But come to think of it, the real reason chauvinists hate the term, 'gender equality ', is because they're intimidated by the womenfolk.
It's evident that whatever a woman sets her mind to, she does it in ways that a man would never would have thought of, or risked.

Not to talk about the fact that we bring forth babies...lol.
Before a sperm fertilizes an egg, it's female. The sperm is just like water, needed for a plant to grow, and plants can still grow in harmattan. * side eyes *

    No woman, no man!

    Even God knew.

*runs away, before they come after me*

  13. Abeg, make this boy go sit down..wetin him know about equality? This is Africa and we must respect our culture, even the 2 religions frown against it..Men are to love their wives while women are to respect their husbands.Women are weaker vessel. If a man slap woman, they blame the man,if a woman slaps a man, they blame the man..so what equality re you talking about again,EXCEPT they wants to turn men to Slaves for women.Equality my foot!!

  16. Not like we don't support it. My point is we need to change our mentality as opposed to enacting new legislations. The Constitution and a plethora of Supreme Court authorities already take care of most of the issues contemplated in the proposed bill. Let people just practise what they preach in their daily lives.

  17. Gender equality really makes sense....if man marry two wives women too will marry two husband..

    1. Thank you. They want gender equality in every other aspect but when a woman slaps a man, we expect the man to be calm about it but when a man slaps a woman, we say it's domestic violence. Are you people truly ready for overall equality ?

    2. I'm telling you. Gender equality my ass! Whenever a lady assaults a guy we expect the guy to be calm about it but whenever a man assaults a lady we say it's domestic violence. Can't there be equality in that too? Are you ladies truly ready for overall equality? You share bills etc with your husband?

  22. Equality is great if practised. Equal rights, equal wrongs, equal expectations and contributions. The problem of the agitation right now is the hypocrisy of it. Equality as an excuse for special consideration. 35% must be reserved for women. That is not equality, that is preferential treatment. Equality means a right to compete without impairment or enhancement. How many women are ready for that? With our be a man syndrome? You can't have a coin without the two faces. Selah.
