The Meeting Point 40

Reading this story made me smile...like having that chocolate with milk inside melt in my mouth....

Hello Stella. Kindly post my story in your meeting point series.
For me, love came slowly and softly.

I met 'K' in 2010, the year I gained admission into the university. I was working as a clerk then in a very big shop in Lagos. I had a lot of 'chykers' so I wasn't surprised when he came to my shop one afternoon pretending to inquire about something.

What made his case different was that he didn't sweet talk me. He just told me that he has been watching me and he loves my character and carriage and would love to marry me. My naive heart immediately saw him as the devil sent to destroy my bright future. How would someone tell me he wants to marry me when God just gave me admission after 2years at home.

He said he would wait for me to finish school. I told him not to wait. Infact I stopped greeting him. Whenever he comes around, I would direct someone to attend to him. Besides, my dad had always told me that I must marry from my place.

Months later, I left for school. One day like that in school, he called. I was so mad. He told me he just wanted to check up on me. I insulted him and warned him never to call me again. Story.

He continued calling everyday and after listening to my rants, he would say he loves me and wants to marry me. At a point, I thought I should teach him a lesson by 'chopping' his money. Little did I know that God wanted to teach me one.

Whenever I was broke, I would call him and ask for money. Before you know it alert don enter then I would go back to my nasty attitude until I was broke again. This continued until my 3rd year in school when my dad fell sick. My parents exhausted their savings in treating him. This left my fees in school unpaid. I had to borrow money from a friend to pay for accommodation.

It was dat year I experienced hunger. I cried to bed every night. I refused to tell 'K' cos of pride. One night, he called as usual and immediately sensed that something was wrong. He pressured me until I told him I had not eaten. He felt bad and transferred money to my account to buy food stuff and pay all my 'igbese'. But that wasn't the shocker. He knows I dont eat much(I prefer taking cereals and tea).

The next day, he went to the market and bought the largest tins of Ovaltine, Peak milk powder and Custard in 2's, packaged and waybilled them from Lagos to Enugu. I broke down in tears when I saw it and felt bad for all the pains I had put him thru. But I no gree apologize. I only became friendlier.

In my 4th year, he came to see me and we lodged. When it was action time, he fumbled. Probably cos it was our first time together and he was too excited. I got angry and my shakara started again. During my IT, I visited him in lagos (wanted to see if he had improved). He nearly killed me. I was the one begging him to stop. I started taking regular doses after that.

It was in my final year i gave myself brain. Compared him to other guys in my life. Listed his pros and cons and found out that his pros largely outweighed his cons. I decided to give him a real chance. That was when I realized the Jewel I had. He is the sweetest person I have ever known. Seeing someone in pain hurts him and he goes out of his way to help people around him.

Stells, I fell in love. We have been together (for real this time) for a year +. He helps me in making more rational decisions cos he's calm and more patient. He makes me laugh. U know this feeling you have when you know someone's got your back no matter what. I feel peace with him and above all, he loves God.

We are just waiting for me to serve next year and then everything will happen.
I hope and pray my parents change their mind and accept him (they rejected his proposal) cos if they don't, na their loss. Me I dey follow my Obim dey go.

*I didnt know i would read to the end and see that you havent married him...wait for which service year?who SERVICE YEAR EPP?you want to wait for another year?say wetin happen?who waiting EPP?My friend marry this man NOW!

    4. Na who service don epp? You beta make good use of that one year instead of wasting it in the name of serving Father land, you no go understand until u don enter. Go and start a wonderful family wiv your man and ditch the service thing as it isn't even mandatory and it is of little or no relevance.

  21. Lol...Nice story.

    Parents and their "tribal restrictions".
Although they usually mean well but what do you do when you don't love someone from your tribe?
Not even this age when so many of us in this generation have lost touch with our roots. Everybody b claiming "lagosian".

Anyways dear, it's better you start showing your parents he's the only option you want and you are having o. So the hustle before the victory can start now and end on time.

  22. Maybe ur parents rejected his proposal bcoz he is a short poor man,not good looking and presentable. No parents will do so if the guy is a tall good looking young rich murder fucking nigga like me.every parent's dream son in law.
