Do they still have Akara joints in the Morning where one can stroll to and Order for hot Akara?
Hot Peppery Akara with shrimps inside.............

Who is having Akara this Morning?

I was also wondering..Since they say it is dangerous to use Nylon bags to cook Moin-moin,what would be another safe way of cooking it apart from using leaves?

If you know anyway, please share with us

  3. Akara with shrimps inside in Nigeria? Who dey sell am?
At most you'd get crayfish inside with big big onions like meat inside.
The akara they sell these days for 1 N10 is like the size of my nose and too light. Best place to buy akara in Lagos is Hubmart Victoria Island or you make it yourself and add what you want.
I haven't eaten yet, I want indomie and blanket eggs.

    1. You can use foil. Don't know if it's unhealthy too

      Delete
    2. They also said using a tin is bad, something go still kill man. I don't like moimoi so I am not bothered. A container that can withstand heat that doesn't emit dioxin should be used. Like Corning Ware, or ceramic containers should be fine.

      Delete
    3. There are some aluminium bowls with cover that can be used. Some people even use evaporated milk tins but I really don't know if it is unhealthy.

      Delete
    4. The leaves are of course the best, read an article that said nutrients good for the body are released into the moimoi.

However, I've used a baking pan before & it was really nice.

  16. Yes, Moinmoin can be cooked in foil paper. If you know how to wrap the leaves, simply cut foil and wrap. If not, roll up foil like a pocket, fold one edge very tight and open up the pocket, fill and roll up again. This can be baked or steamed.

  23. The best healthy way to make moin moin is with that moinmoin leaf, apart frm its health benefit,it gives the moin moin a unique taste and aroma... The leaf is nt easy to get and you need to learn how to wrap it very well to avoid leakage..

  24. Fry potato and egg is going down well for me this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  25. When one uses, foil, it's just to bake and steam. For me, after using, bowls, tins, nylon, it's best to make moi moi with leaves.

    The healthier the better.
