Bishop Oyedepo Talks About How He Feels When People Say He Uses Church Money To Fly And Maintain Private Jets....

Founder and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church also known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has stated that he feels good when accused of flying private jets and maintaining them with church’s money.

Bishop Oyedepo said he is not disturbed by false news carried around about him but only sees such as persecutions.

When asked in an interview with the Education Explorer during the weekend if the allegation that he uses church money to main his jets trouble him, the pastor said, “I feel very good. It’s an opinion. Let me tell you what my understanding of persecution is; it’s simply an opinion harshly expressed. And everybody has a right to his opinion.

“People who are walking in the truth are hardly bothered when things are said negatively about them because they have nothing to hide. The truth is I have never felt it, some say it’s not human, but I have not. I can’t be wasting my time trying to reply lies because I have too many things to do.

“They are doing their work, let me be doing my work too and before they wake up in the morning, I’ve done the next one, so, it doesn’t matter. My idea of it is that, in a football match, you have only 22 people playing with thousands of spectators.

“And that is the way it is in the journey of life. In every field, you find just few players and many spectators, multitudes. If we don’t know where to place opinions, they will displace us.

“When we started Covenant University, so many people said it would not work, now, we hosted two Nobel Laureates this week, whereas no Nigerian university has ever hosted one in the history of university education in Nigeria.

“Now, it is the most pronounced and preferred private university in Nigeria. In fact, they say this is the university of the future; that is what they say in the university community. Those who said it could not work now have their children here because they have changed their mind.

“Some people say how can you tell children how to dress? We have to do that so they won’t behave like mad people on the street. They say how can you tell them they can’t use phone? We tell them so they would be disconnected from cultism.

“Ask me anything, I can tell you why we did it. Where are you going to find the President of a nation with a woven hair? I can tell you that in the next 100 years, you won’t find a male president using earring because they would count you as irresponsible, even in the secular world, they won’t see anything in you.

“As free as America is, have you ever seen any minister there with earrings? The person may be qualified, but he will be termed irresponsible. But if you train these children how to carry themselves, it will open up their future.

“Everywhere you get to in this world, people are looking for responsible people, who don’t only say so, but prove so. So, all the opinions on Covenant University have died now because we didn’t stop pursuing what we believe was right and now it has become a standard.”

    8. Hello madam you don't know shit about living faith. I have been attending living faith for 15years and what you outsiders don't know is that, at least 10 members get scholarship into both covenant uni and landmark yearly. I graduated from covenant uni first and second degree architecture on scholarship my sister is in landmark studying agricultural science same scholarship. You want a good school right, if it's not expensive how do they keep standard?. Even Christian schools in America are bloody expensive people who school abroad from here go to public schools and it's still bloody expensive. About 50 percent of his memebrs not being able to afgord it- You lie, living faith has wealthy members and while in school over 60 percent of us were from living faith. The fact that we dont shout or take pictures of charitable offerings does not mean we don't do it. We give in silence and reap bountifully. Don't even think it's tithes he feeds from or maintains the jets from. Those 4 jets were all gifts and the maintenance is done by a specific company that was anonymously paid for it. If you have never been to winners keep quiet. Btw, it's not your tithe. It's ours. With you peoples 2000 tithe you won't let us hear word.

  9. He has said nothing. He should go further and clarrify what business he does that an fund a lavish lifestyle of private jets and private universities. And how he is able to keep such a big business secret, and provide tax clearance certificates, cuz he has to pay tax on these businesses. How can a called man,of God amass so much. Yes a called man of God isn't supposed so much, their life is a life of total sacrifice. Read about them in the bible.

  10. If he uses it to maintain his jet so what? Is he supposed to use his mkpuru amu, it's high time you all left these pastors alone, people paying tithes are not complaining it's the ones that are not paying that won't let us rest, or do you think if you stop paying it will be noticed? Nahhh! If you don't wanna pay do it quietly and leave people that want to do it after all they ain't using your amu to do it..

How can you get tithes and offering from the people and turn around and build an UN AFFORDABLE university?

Did he build it for German, American or British citizens?

    Or

The same children of his flocks that cannot afford tution?

    And

With your private jets, you could have opened free schools and cooked meals for hungry flocks. Oh no! You wont!

  14. What's most of you problem w how he fuels his jet and plane?
Is it not where somebody works from DAT he will eat?
Most of you work in coorperate organisations w divers allowances. Travel, holiday, health insurance, fuel etc all paid by the company. And u even feel a sense of entitlement to it.
Now a Pastor works in d church and it's your headache and pain DAT he eats d dividend? Are you not being wicked?
Where were you all when it was just him and his wife, had to sell all he owns to put in the church, many days of hunger strike?
His faithfulness to God produce all these and you have a problem w it?
He is God's servant not yours. It's non of your business what and how he spends d church money

    1. Where were we? What he was called for was not to amass monies from the congregation. He was called to serve, what's the, difference btw him and politicians looting. I,can say this, because he has not been able to identify any alternate, source of income asides the church. He wasn't called to hammer. The money he,makes from the church is to propagate the gospel. I say yet again, read your noble properly, come back and tell me which called prophet of God or Man of God, gathered stupendous wealth. 4 private Jets?? Don't you people think??

  16. Did you apply for scholarship at the school and wasn't given? Why don't ppl complain about the so-called free universities where you write jamb for years and u don't get admission. Back in 1999, I stayed home for 3 years without admission even when I got 205 in jamb but didn't have connection at unilag. The truth is that university Education can not be free! The standard needs to be maintained. Harvard university was established by religious institutions, are they cheap? No; they are maintaining the standard. I eventually got into unilag by paying a ridiculous amount do do diploma but It was a woeful experience, we had access to nothing, I mean not even access to a good toilet, I held my poop every week until I go home for the weekend. Unilag library can only boast of books published in 1960s in which the ideas are obsolete and totally inapplicable to the 21st century. Covenant has one of the best updated libraries, conducive learning environment, access to water and toilets amongst others. Do you think these amenities are not paid for? Please stop condemning, start a small organization and run it and see how it works before u open ur mouths. Again, we tihters are not complaining, stop advocating for us. Don't pay your tithes if u want, it's not mandatory.

    1. You just talked shits, Finland has the best educational system yet they never charged a penny till your fellow country men abused the system and they stopped for people coming from third world, and you are here saying a church can't offer school for free but this same man went to missionary school and few of his family member enjoyed Awolowo's free school era. Nigerians are the most brainwashed citizens i've seen in this whole wide world. Most people in Nigeria pay no tax but always be the first to question the government but your churches charge you mandatory 10% of your income without any benefits than telling you kingdom of God is faraway from you if you don't pay. How are those pastors sure they themselves are going to the kingdom of God without breaking down at the hell fire gates.

    2. Mr Finland! Do you know the population of Finland? Less than the population of Lagos my dear. Is it the churches in Finland dt give this free education? Stop comparing apples with oranges. Which church asked for a "mandatory" tithe? Tithe is a free will/voluntary offering...pls check your dictionary for the meaning of manadatory. Do you know how many mouths he feeds? How many orphanages? Because they dont blow trumpets...and who said Nigerians don't pay taxes. Salaries are taxed , yet the common man gets nothing from their govt. Dont look for pastors to blame for Nigeria's problems. Churches are doing their best and i know alot of pple that have benefitted from churches. Same pastor Oyedepo paid 66,000 euros for someone he didnt know personally who had to do an immediate surgery in Europe. Dont argue when u dont have facts.

    3. First of do any you realise, that churches are registered at the CAC as non profit organisations. I think if you're able to afford a private jet from untaxted church funds, its safe and common sense to say profit is being made. Doesn't this count as fraud, because they are untaxted because they are seen as humanitarian bodies, if you have enough left out to lavish on four private jets, doesn't that say you have defrauded the systems. These guys register these churches in their name and when they die, they pass on to wives and family. From the bible definition of the church, can you own a church? The church is the people, so whatever the church, gets is for the church and by definition.....the people. Not one man to sit on everything and be coming out to speak so arrogantly. It doesn't belong to him!!! The bible states that the body of Chris, must, not let emanyone go hungry.Has that feat been even nearly achieved before almost N12billion is shelled out on private jets. There is obvious brain washing here, which is further enabled by a culture of blind and unquestioned followership. Read about the life of Christ and his disciples and get a clue about how the right way should be.

  20. It's so unfortunate how clueless people leave where Stone strike them and they start looking where they fall on..it's absolutely funny how some of you leave government to Churches who owned private Institutions.. I'm currently an undergraduate of Babcock University studying Computer information System.. Before entering Babcock University, I applied to University of Lagos with a jamb scores of 271,but i was not given admission even though i passed my post Ume text..i stayed at home for a longer period by keeping applying to public Universities because there was no money for private University... But admission didn't come from any of these people Universities.it was so done on me that could not wait anymore! So when Babcock gave me admission the third time, i told myself I'm not gonna let that admission go by..... So the little i saved, I went and paid my acceptance fees with nobody to sponsor me.. This is how have been in Babcock even though getting the school fees is a real war.. Right now I'm in final and the truth is I'm owing N950,000 to pay.. But the truth i must tell you is,, Church can't maintain the standard of University with Cheap school fees... If you have been to Babcock University, Covenant University and the rest, you will agree with me that the facilities are there... The only way to reduce the fees is if government can come in with fund.. And as a Church member, if you can't afford the fees doesn't if you finish from other schools you won't work there..! Because these Universities, 95% of their are the members of the church that owns the University.... So please, let's take research before we comment some certain things.. God bless us all..

    1. There you go contradicting your statement! The whole argument here is that since the churches are untaxed , why not ensure that church members are actually given opportunities to go to school ! Do you know you wouldn’t not have been in debt if these men of God made sure that you had access to a free or even subsidezed schools fees! I worked in the bank and the biggest account holders with so much liquidity are pastors of churches and I’m not even talking about the church accounts . To him much is given , much is expected! And mind you , their children do not go to these universities and you are here screaming on top mediocrity

The truth is that If you are a true Christian it will be hard for you to be a billionaire because you would just keep helping people to the extent that you would just have enough for your family not too much luxury,I know a lady that earns so much, she will just call people up and ask how she can help them to go acquire skills that can help them make more money,if you are billionaire in this Nigeria where there are very hopeless cases, sorry to say you are not a Christain.

  22. What?? What are you saying ,,60% of you in living faith are rich. What kin of talk is this. 2 of my siblings went to this so called convenat university, so don't come here speewing lies. The greater percentage of people that attend Canaan land come with the free transportation provided. Just by looking at them you know they cant afford it. Then again you say the 4 private jets are gifts. First of from good authority, he has collects offering for the purchase of a private jet before. Even,if it was a gift, can gifts not be converted, especially since you, know what kind of impoverished society you live in. As a so called, man of God, would he live so lavishly in the midst of abject poverty. Did you not see example by the pope?? And you say 10students are given scorlarships, out of the thousands that enrol in year? What are you saying. Granted for schools to be well equipped and standard, the fees might not be so cheap. But 10 students?? Are you kidding me, what kind of lame ass eye service is that? The parking fee for two hours for one jet, will pay the fees of one student to convenant. Tithing by its design was meant as a feast of love, a way to give to the needy and somewhat distribute a little of the wealth from the,top to the bottom. And I wasnt money. Only people who lived far sent theirs as money. Now you you people think, its some kind of voodoo, that 1+1 = 100. God does not work or walk like that. Its a thing of free will, and there is no curse that comes with not paying it, paying it and not paying it is not a personal thing, it is a scriptural thing. Focus on living right, and abidiing by the teachings of Christ so as to make, heaven, not looking for how to bribe God with your filthy money, and be swimming in sin. Not jusdging just saying
