Patience Jonathan Urges Court Unfreeze Her $5.8 Million and N3.5 Billion

Former Nigerian First Lady, Patience Jonathan, on Thursday asked the Federal High Court, Abuja, to set aside an order which froze her bank accounts containing $5.8 million and N3.5 billion.

The Federal High Court, Abuja, had on May 30, granted an ex-parte order in favour of the Federal Government against all the accounts owned and operated by Jonathan and her companies. Mrs Jonathan asked the court to set aside the order it made on May, 30 on the grounds that it had expired.

Counsel to the EFCC, Mr Richard Dauda, had earlier told the court that he had filed an application seeking to extend the interim order of forfeiture.

The judge, Justice Binta Nyako adjourned the matter until Nov. 23 for hearing.

  5. It is unfortunate that she has pride to be shouting from roof top about huge amount of money .if it were to be in a country where the law works,she would have gone into exile.

    I would love to see her statement of account before she entered Aso rock with her husband.

    I know they stole so much money oo...
    I know they are taking the best move to recover the looted ooo...

    But my question now is;
    What will they do with the money they have recovered so far and the ones they will recover from her?

    Cos, for sure they won't bring it out to help the masses that are in need of the money.

    Na relooting things ooo.
