Actress Sarah Martins Shares Shocking Encounter After Giving Married Woman A Lift

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins shared a story on Instagram about an encounter that left her advising women to be careful about the kind of men they marry.

She explained that while driving out of her estate, she saw a woman she usually greets standing in heavy floodwater and waiting for a cab. Out of kindness, she asked the woman to enter her car so she could drop her off where the road was dry.
Unknown to her, the woman had been trekking with her husband, who was still far behind in the flood. As soon as the woman entered the car, the man began shouting and insulting her. When Sarah asked who he was, the woman said he was her husband.

Sarah drove closer to explain that she only wanted to help and that he could join them, but he looked at her from head to toe and continued cursing both of them.
She questioned whether the man was angry because his wife entered the car and left him in the flood, or because she found favour, or because a woman was the one driving.
She said the incident reminded her why she always advises women not to marry out of pity or marry low.
Sarah ended by saying that it is better to die single than to marry an enemy who will kill you at home.

  1. A successful marriage is by God's grace. We have seen those who married as friends later turn enemies in marriage due to one issue or the other. Marriage and friendship are two different things.

  2. Marry low, marry high. Marriage is not forvthe faint hearted. Even Shade Okoya will have her own tales to tell us. I am sure it would not be all that rosy in the glass house

  3. Will you say the same thing if a man enters lift and leave his wife behind in flood? Men, you better marry a kind and sensible partner.

  5. But ehh, what if it's the husband that entered the car first and left the wife...would Sarah still have same conclusion? The woman simply did not apply courtesy

You people should stop looking for fault where there is none

  6. She shouldn't have accepted any lift so long as she knows that her husband was coming to meet her. That was selfish of her. I don't blame the man for being mad at her.

It will be really heartbreaking to see my man accept a lift offer when he knows I am rushing to meet him.

    1. Any real man would be mad at his wife for not accepting lift to get at least one of them out of the rain
      Stop dealing low level people
I’d want my brother to accept lift not to talk of a wife

  7. Some ppl do not handle crisis well and this is why it is good to see how ppl react under different circumstances before tying the knot. If you have only seen your spouse in good times then you have no clue who they are.

While nobody knows why this man was cursing, a loving husband would be overjoyed his wife came out of flood waters. Most men are of the mindset that they can endure such conditions better than a woman. Why did he not enter the car too when offered? Seems like he is an enemy of progress, even his own.
