Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) Agree To Suspend Strike...

In consideration of the plight of health-seeking public and to give room for an amicable resolution of its dispute with the Federal Government, the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, on Wednesday agreed to suspend its 44 days old strike on Friday June 1, 2018.

This decision followed the intervention of the National Industrial Court, NIC, which offered to take over the mediation process between the striking health workers and the government.

The leadership of JOHESU decided to sheath its sword and direct the members of the union to resume duties since the NIC, as a neutral and impartial organ of the Judiciary, has mandated its mediation centre to take over the negotiation and reconciliation processes within the next 24 hrs in the interest of the public.

    3. Sdk Johesu have not call off the strike ooh. Vanguard news paper na lie go kill unah. Although they might call it off anytime soon and sure Johesu themselves will communicate to the public when that happens.
Sorry about your lost @ Kelvin. That's the typical attitude of a Nigerian doctor. They always claim to be Lord and saviour of the hospital thereby depriving other health workers of their due benefit but now that they've gone on strike ask them to continue the work for where, they all ran away like headless chicken. God will fight for Johesu and disgrace all the obstacles standing on their path to peace negotiations..

    5. Doctors haven't been on strike, however, Doctors don't admit patients without nurses to monitor them(in line with world best practices). Now Nurses and pharmacists were on strike,so go figure who killed your friend. Doctors have been running outpatient clinic and every other aspect they can single handedly do .Critically ill patients like your friend would need a nurse for constant monitoring, hence reason he was not admitted . besides private hospitals have been working, why didn't you take him there?

  3. God i know you have a reason for allowing a beast like buhari to rule this country. JOHESU has been on strike for the past 44days and the president don't dime it necessary to negotiate with them since the stupid minister for health and labour can come to concrete conclusion all because he and his family don't patronize Nigeria hospitals. God pls forgive us Nigerians and hear our prayers like you did in the year 1998.

  6. Must you people insult doctors for everything? Doctors have been doing their work, your very sick patient needs nursing care after a doc had admitted and prescribed medications.A doctor cant provide nursing care its not his duty. Please blame johesu and not doctors.
