The President disclosed this in a letter to the Senate on Tuesday which was read on the floor during plenary. According to Buhari, implementing a budget of N9.12 trillion for 2018 would be extremely challenging and therefore did not consider it expedient to increase the 2018 budget to accommodate the funds needed for the 2019 General Elections.
The president asked the National Assembly to transfer the funds appropriated for the new projects which were inserted in the 2018 budget to cover the sum of N228.8 billion for the elections.

I predict there will be no election in 2019. Military will take over, suspend the contitution, come up with a more sustainable constitution after removing immunity, NASS wastage, etc then they will return government to civilians. Zimbabwe is doing this with consent of the western wolrd so we can do it here also. If we do not change the constitution now Nigeria will be done with democracy in 15 years - it is too expensive and wasteful. How do you spend N243b on one election and hope to progress as a Country.
