The Meeting Point 67

Every love story has a meeting point!..Where did yours happen?Toilet?Kitchen?the movies?wedding?or you snatched another's?....lol

Hi Stella,

I have been trying to pen down my story but I always just procrastinate up until this moment that I find myself reminiscing.

HOW WE MET

University of Benin (500LT)-First Year!

I was a very shy girl but I put up this countenance of don't-come-close-to-me. I remember always keeping a straight face and once I've scanned the room, I pick a seat with my eyes head up there and not speak with any one.
Quite Frankly I don't remember him coming up to me but I will tell his version.

{Him: You would always catwalk into the class with your heels and once lectures are over, you disappear into thin air. On one faithful day, I see you speaking with another colleague whom I had earlier made an acquaintance with and I tell myself "God is great, this girl won't pass me by" and as a sharp guy I form saying hi to the other lady just so I can speak with you and voila! we struck it off till this moment.}

We became close friends and would always throw jabs at each other.. he would say my mouth was a razor blade and I would retaliate by calling his cutlass...lol... he would then say... 'May God save your future husband' and I would say a resounding Amen! He never asked me out and I never saw him as someone I could date because our bond of friendship was more than okay for me. We went on to date other people throughout the duration of our 4 years and I recall both my exes always saw him as a threat which I found very ridiculous at the time.

We kept in touch even after graduation and after service but I became incommunicado through my year of joblessness and depression after losing my first FG appointment.

I decided to pick up the pieces of my life and start small again. I moved to Lagos after getting a job with a fitness centre and after weeks of settling down I called him to let him know I was in town, he immediately fixed a date for us to see. The day comes and as usual he keeps me waiting, he eventually shows up while I'm on the phone with one toaster, feigns jealousy and says he's going to sit with another lady who was alone...... I rebuke him angrily and say don't you dare try it....

{Him: That statement gave me the liver to ask you out because I almost had a nervous breakdown thinking of how I was going to do so without you rejecting me and that's why I was late that day.}

I hang up and we settle down to ice cream, gisting and trying to catch up... we leave to go get pizza and after we are completely stuffed, I announce that I'm ready to leave. He sees me off and somehow we just start walking instead of boarding the taxi we had booked...🤣🤣🤣...

We continue with our gists under the hot sun while walking and he asks me some questions about marriage and my thoughts which I answer casually without noting the nodding of his head or the smile he has on his face and then Out of the blues I hear 'T****, I would really love for you to be my girlfriend' blah blah... I'm gobsmacked, I stop in my tracks turn to him and say 'N*****, abeg stop that joke jor'. Thats when I look into his eyes and I see how serious that moment is for him, I blab a 'let me think about It' and immediately flag down a cab and literally fly in just to avoid the awkwardness that had set in.

One week later, I haven't answered his calls nor replied the messages. I decide to pray and after a 9-day novena, I call him to say the dreaded 'we need to sit and talk'....... we eventually see and after telling him what I would like which he admitted would be difficult but workable, a relationship started and with God helping us it blossomed.
I got back my FG appointment and moved back home, we became stronger in love and plenty fights and after over 15 months of dating, he proposed dramatically at a restaurant in connivance with my friends and sister ....ehn I ran away and was pursued and caught by my sister and bestie... we got married 6 months later and it's been a wonderful journey. He's been more than amazing and very annoying but I wouldn't trade him for Idris Elba my crush...

(watch out for the wedding night brouhaha tomorrow)
