MRS DEES CORNER
EFFEMINATE MEN

When a young woman gets to the age of marriage, suitors come in different shapes, sizes and character. At a point, it becomes confusing in making the right choice.

One of the men who asked for my hand in marriage that I'll never forget in a hurry was Mr Effeminate. This man had the voice of a woman, walked like a woman, had big bumbum like a woman. In fact, the first day he chatted with me, I was busy watching him gesticulating while reeling out his resúme of good husband material. The only thing that made him look masculine was the shirt and trousers he wore.

I was not smitten at all, but in a bid not to lose a 'good man' because of bad packaging, I stalled on my negative response. The more I tried to see if it could work out, the more terrified I became. I thought of him touching me and I nearly threw up. I knew I just couldn't give in to him se#ually in marriage.

I sought for advice and everyone spoke well of him. Even from what I saw he was good but not enough to take that bold step with him.

When I could not bear the emotional turmoil any more. I called him and told him it won't work out. He was very hurt and tried to convince me to give it a second thought. I vehemently refused.

Thank God I did. Today, he is married to a beautiful woman and I began to wonder if there are women who are not put off by effeminacy in men.

*That is why our forefathers postulate that one mans meat is another mans poison!!!

I am a 26 years old lady, educated, unemployed at the moment and everyone is talking about me settling down. I don’t know if I should focus on building up my career or try date any guy. My previous relationship last year as I broke up with my bf who is very manipulating. This guy did many things to hurt me, I am scared I may never fall in love because I have never genuinely loved someone in a relationship:::

You can do both now, what do you people gain from being alone?Peace of mind? There is none without love abeg!!!...My two cents oh....Love rocks and i urge you not to give up cos one person hurt you, thats their baggage, dont carry it for them!

Pls my younger brother has been staying with me for a year now. He studied dentistry for his OND in offa, he has been trying to get into the university to further it but uptill now nothing. Now my husband is saying he should change his course to engineering that it is very lucrative and also many schools offer it in Nigeria. Hubby said I should talk to him that he is ready to sponsor him but my brother is insisting on dentistry, there are few schools that offer the course in Nigeria, he will be 23 and my hubby is saying age isn't on his side anymore that by the time he is done with the dentistry, he will be 30 and the labour market isn't favourable again with age except you have connections. Sincerely I don't want to mislead him and at the same time I dont want him to miss opportunity and keep wasting his time. I want him to go for his heart desires but at the same time he has been home writing jamb for 4yrs now after his OND to no avail. We have sponsored him for TOEFL, driving training, coding programme, Java and all when he came to my house, so he isn't idle.

Pls what should be done?

*I understand that your bro will take any course just to leave home but these days,it is what sells that matters and not one wants..So many people are crying and wishing they had listened to career advices....
Most of the people i know who studied Dentistry are either Jobless or earning very very poor salaries and 90percent of the Engineers i know including Le darling earn really good pay and there are so many branches in Engineering to choose from...so think about this and let your brother know that sometimes what we want isnt really what we need....

  7. Sometimes, children and parents can be so funny. My neighbor's child who is up to 16yrs did something bad two days ago, the mother got upset and informed his father upon his return. The man brought a hard koboko and threatened to kill the boy that night.

The boy ran out of home and didn't come back home that night. Today is the second day and they have been begging oga to return, that they are sorry, that they didn't mean it that way. The boy is still afraid if it a set up.

    1. Lol@ if it's a set up. Some parents will never understand the best way to handle their kids. Because it works for Mr okoro doesn't mean it'll work when you try it on your kids. I hope the boy comes back home.

It's been 10years of me being clean from the act which I detested (I'm 32 now), I just fell this morning and even used my hand to stimulate myself join (which I'd never done before).

I will advise you not to go into a new relationship with baggage from your old relationship. Let go of the hurt from the past and then move on. Open your heart and tell God to help you heal. You are what you think, if you think you may never fall in love then you won’t. Free yourself of every hurt/ bitterness
Settling down is good (if you have the desire to settle down) but don’t put your life on hold while searching for a spouse, you can build your career but still be open minded to love again. I pray you find someone that will help build your career with you

    1. Dentistry is very lucratìve if the person is private. Study further to become a cosmetic dentist and I'm sure he will make it. I think it's better for him to study what he desires than forcing him into another field that he will struggle with.

  39. Dear Atiku
You need to employ me ASAP, if you can afford me though.

Honestly, I can't say if you were tired or restless during that interview but you made the current president seem smart with the way you answered questions. I was embarrassed on your behalf. Peter Obi came to your rescue but he did a good job but not a great job.

You need to do a great job. I was not convinced to vote PDP. You barely answered the questions and these were simple questions that didn't even require much analysis to answer. When they asked you about your wife and the allegation against her, you should have just told us a bit of the allegation, your side of the story and end it with she has not been indicted.

When the lady asked...how come you have not been able to raise another YOU in Adamawa , you replied in the most selfish manner any selfish human could ever...Do you know how long it took me to get to where I am? Oh really. These goes to show the average youth don't stand a chance at all.

Kudos to that woman though. She did a magnificent job and was unbiased and very objective with her questions.

She asked Peter Obi a simple questions. Is it true that when you were a governor, you transported beggars in Anambra state back to AkwaIbom state. He could have simply answered No and give cogent reasons but he started telling us how he married one of the most beautiful women from Akwaibom.

Its unfortunate that these people have companies and before they employ a recent graduate, the graduate will go through rigorous interview when the owner of the company can't even answer basic questions.

The funny part is, people were clapping shamelessly at their answers. I wondered if it's the same brain I have that they have.

Maybe Atiku isn't an orator or does not know how to process questions before answering but he did a terrible job at the candidate. Some people are good in writing, others are good in talking. Some talk less and do more.i don't know what category he falls under.

At least, we know the current president does not talk much and does not do much. He is in a small world of his own.

Don't get me started with APC or you people and your Moghalu. What is Moghalu's credibility? What has he done? Who has he raised? What difference has he made? What impact has he made in the grassroot area? You can't wake up one morning from a deep slumber and decide to run for the president of Nigeria. Where have you been all this while?

He wants to pardon looters and recover what they stole. How is it okay there is no deterrent for future looters? How about recover what they stole and still punish them?

    Smh.

    4. Why do we keep doing same thing and expecting a different result?

Obviously Atiku is telling Nigerians that his government will have free hand and people will benefit especially looters but is that what we truly want?

This is same agenda Goodluck's government propagated. Free for all. Eat until you are full. The rich becomes richer, the poor is ecstatic with the peanut the rich gives him that can only last few months.

When are we going to leave durable foot marks for our children? When are we going to have solid development in this country. Good healthcare, good education, good transport means, durable industries to employ the youth. Steady supply of light. When?

If it is not APC or PDP, we can't go for another party? Whoever that is whispering Moghalu should just shut it.

      Why?

APC does not come close because it seems they don't know they have lost it. I have never seen group of people with no agenda and no plan to have an agenda like APC. They are ceremonious in nature and lack depth on where to lead this country to. They are not confused, they know what to do but are just not bothered and are prideful in their nonchalant attitude. It is a pity.

I thought Atiku would at least...but never mind. Let's wait until 2023. Who knows?

You just pretended she didnt even exist.
