  1. So because you wanna serve God you must come out looking all tied up like a new born baby. No, you must not come out naked or half nude but be decently dressed.

    1. The word sexy isn't what Nigerians define it to be. Looking good and smart is different from looking sexy.
To be sexy means to be erotic, so if you think it's okay to be erotic before God then that's fine.
In my opinion, I don't think it's right to come half nacked before God.

  2. I serve God looking sexy and he answers me every time I call on him....he loves my sexy looks.
What matters is my pure heart.

    1. The state of your heart is reflected in your actions. You can't display a lifestyle that contradicts your inner being because a man is just as he thinks.

If your heart is indeed pure, your lifestyle should be pure as well.

People make ignorant statements like what you've made to justify and excuse their actions. You can't live your life in your own terms and say "salvation is personal" or "it's between me n my god" or " as long as my heart is pure". That's delusion.

Most importantly, God answers you out of mercy. Not because He approves of a lifestyle that contradicts His word. But then sin should not abound because of the presence of Grace.

    2. So your spirit radiates holiness while your body radiates lust?
Why are you lying even to yourself?
Repent of this your seductive actions against men
You are working for the devil, who will pay you with eternal damnation.

    3. that a father doesn't like what a child does will not make him not to care for the child. Likewise that God answers you whenever you call does not mean he's happy with your sexy service

    4. How I serve my God is none of y’alls business.
You can be all covered up and still look sexy.
I don’t expose my body, I don’t dress with intent to seduce any men.
      I love to look good always...so 💁🏿‍♂️

    5. @hrh, you are the ignorant one. Being sexy does not entail exposure or whatever you think “sexy” means to you.
      Y’all judge stupidly.

    1. So exposing cleavage is what sexy means to you? Wonderful.

  4. Being sexy is a physical thing and not spiritual. Some got nice shapes which it's never hidden even if they are on long gowns and have their bodies covered

  8. 1 Peter 3
3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

Peter writes that Christian ladies should not seek their "adornment" or "beauty" or identity in how they dress or wear their hair. This is in no way meant as a ban on braiding or jewelry.
Rather, it's a warning about using external things in an attempt to find true beauty.

Here, Peter describes what we should focus on, instead. God's will for us is to "adorn" or "beautify" ourselves from the inside out. We should let the "hidden Person of the heart" show up visibly in their life. That inner self should be characterized by the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. That's a beauty that won't fade with age, a beauty that is of great value to God.

  9. Bros, you can't have the holy spirit and be looking dull, unkempt, nor like a castaway

The spirit of God is neither sexy, bland or cooperate.

The spirit of God is a holy spirit.

    2. Thank you blackberry, I don't understand the poster's definition of the word sexy. From my own view one can be well covered and still be sexy, you don't have to be naked to look sexy.

  10. This is one misconception people thinks about Christianity. They think living a good life or dressing in a fashion oriented style is ungodly. Do we all start dressing to look like those during the medieval age? Provided your cloth aren't body revealing, to me I don't think there is anything bad about dressing. Sexy shouldn't be seen as dressing alone. One can look sexy by their hair do, makeup, smiles, shoes or even cloth design.

  11. in our present world everything seems to be sexy, sexy seems to be the selling language! God help us

  12. A lot of people who do not know the difference between looking sexy and looking admirable will start unnecessary argument.

Yes, the Bible talks about modesty and yes sexiness encourages lust of the flesh which is anti Christ.

To make it simpler, think first ladies of powerful nations, think women in powerful leadership positions, they intentionally do not wear a sexy look but a decent and well groomed look.

Even when the world acclaimed sexy women like Kim K go for professional meetings with the U.S president, she downplays her sexiness.

How much more a host of the Holy Spirit. Sistur girl, you've got no business looking sexy in public🙂 if you must, do it in the privacy of your bedroom and the company of your spouse😊

    1. Well said!!! There is a huge difference between looking sexy and looking good. I choose the later

  13. I think i get his angle.

First, when you are born-again. It affects every sphere of your life including how you dress.

This is both male and female.

While I will not advocate swaddling clothes with oily faces, i will like to say that one should be dressed in such a way that if Jesus would come physically to you that moment, he would be pleased.

As a truly born again, the force behind your dressing should be to cover.
After Adam and Eve sinned and discovered they were naked. Their first intention was to "cover".

So every piece of clothing a Christain should put on should be to cover. Not the kind of covering that still shows an imprint of what you are covering.

Be modest and let people see that you are for Christ in and out.

The problem we have with Christianity these days is that we want to accomodate everyone. Yes, we should be able to preach "come as you are" but we should definitely also be preaching "Do NOT remain like you were"

Jesus clearly said "Be not of the world..." because there's a standard and there should be a difference.

SEXY means something with an aura of sex.

Why should the child of God want the first thought people see when they glance at him/her be sex?

  14. look Good but not indecent! we should worship God in truth and in spirit! that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all for God's glory.  let our dressings glorify God!.

  15. I firmly believe that one can have Jesus in one's life and still look sexy. Otherwise how are you supposed to sexually appeal to your spouse without looking sexy?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Keep that sexual appeal to your spouse when you guys are alone. Why should you as a child of God feel comfortable that the next thing one thinks of when they set their eyes on you is sex? That's the spirit of lust camouflaged under the guise of looking good. Why should your outward appearance be sexy? That is not right please.
You can look very good and well put together without looking like someone that has set out to seduce/entice.

  17. 'you can't have Jesus in your life and still look sexy' this is true though nobody is asking you to wear clothes that can sweep the whole of Nigeria. Decency is all you need- ie covering up the necessary places and still look wow

if you think you can still look sexy ass in real sexy then i doubt you truely understand what it means to make sacrifices to serve to God

this serving God no be beans o as it entails a lot of sacrifices. If you think otherwise, then check well there are still things you are not giving up yet. Las las na God grace we need plus delibrate willingness

    1. The gospel is too simple to be true, our righteousness is of Christ Jesus not of us lest we boast, our own righteousness is like a filthy rag before God but we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Serving God is very easy, you think salvation is by works NO! Its by grace. Jesus did it all for us, all we need do is to walk in the consciousness of our salvation.

Lies, fornication etc won't take one to hell, not acknowledging the death and resurrection of Jesus will, when you sin the laws of the earth deals with you. Shikenah

  18. It depends. Personally i try not to dress in a way that would make another sin in his heart/ eyes but I look good so non believers will know that to serve God I dont need to look crusty
My intention while dressing up is what matters IMO

  19. 1 Tim 2:9-10 Women should adorn themselves in a respectable apparel with modesty and self control not with biased hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess Godliness.

A woman that fears God must dress moderately not to please the world but to please God. You can't dress seductively and you think Holy Spirit will dwell in such body.

1 Peter 3:3 says "Do not let your adorning be external, the braiding of hair and putting on of gold......

  20. "Looking sexy" is just a sobriquet for dressing to seduce. That is the truth. There is what the Scriptures call the attire of a harlot.
Prov. 7:10 Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.
1 John 2:15Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

  21. The fact is you all are confusing dressing sexy to dressing modern or nice. Dressing sexy portrays sex/seduction and you shouldn't enter any church sexy but you can still dress nice and modern. I personally hate it when men tell me I look sexy; that's sexualisation. There's more to me than just sex. Tell me I'm beautiful or I look nice, that's far better.

  22. Serve God in truth and in spirit.
For me I dress moderately. I don’t even like exposing so much sef. But catch me at home, hehehehe.

  23. Depends on what sex means here. If it means scantily clad(naked dressing) then I agree. If it means always fashionable then I don't agree.

God is creative energy and expression, fashion is an extension of that creative energy. Just because you like to be well dressed and put together does not mean you are ungodly. Anymore than dressing in rags makes one holy. Creative expression is all a part of the divine design and cannot be contained. Just look at the planets in our solar system, they all look different and act differently, same is the animal kingdom on earth, the plant kingdom.

  24. I don't understand how some Christians think, our father created silver and gold, yet all the good things on earth belongs to the devil and we are meant to look and dress anyhow? Moderacy is good, excess is bad, but some Christians will not be able to walk when we get to heaven cos the streets are made of gold and the shock of walking on gold won't allow them move their legs. Hian!
