    2. My sister was not overweight same as my friend but they suffer from thyroid problems. Also my best friend died because she was diagnosed but ignored it. She died at 23 years. Non of these three people I mentioned were overweight.

    3. Thank you,but I was actually referring to PCOS,may be I didnt state it clearly. Was told being overweight leads to hormonal issues and that ketogenic diets does wonders to it. Sorry about your sister and the loss of your best friend @anon 12:48.

    5. PCOS has nothing to do with weight. It's hormonal and the only person I know that has it is very slim.

Healing balm of God will come upon lepacious Bose and make her a living proof of God's powers. Amen.

    6. @Lee Lee that's an incorrect information. I was as slim as a broom stick when I was diagnosed with PCOS. It is the hormonal drugs that make one fat.. .Hence you keep watching your weight.

    7. Lee Lee overweight dont cause pcos, its pcos that sometimes cause overweight, body hairs, etc.

    8. Please let’s not be so quick to say things were not sure of.
PCOS is most likely what made her overweight and not the other way round
Seeing that she has Both hypothyroidism and PCOS, she most like has autoimmune problems. I can bet she has diabetes too.
I pray for healing for her. It’s not easy dealing with conditions like these where there’s no guaranteed treatment

    9. Lee Lee please you must not comment. Go and read about PCOS, psoriasis and hypothyroidism before typing rubbish

  3. I pray for Gods intervention in your health.

Is there no cure for such condition? Or a way of managing it without all this excessive heat and pain?
Maybe supplementing your body’s thyroid production?

I really feel bad for you.

  4. Stella, it’s HYPOthyroidism, not HYPER..:
People with hyperthyroidism are usually underweight or find it difficult to put on weight.

    1. Go to teaching hospital or fmc

    2. Yours is hyper while hers is hypo. Hyper can make you underweight no matter what you eat while hypo causes over weight even if you go on hunger strike. It's a managed with drugs daily, I was diagnosed in Nigeria and started treating there. Nothing invasive.you just take a particular prescribed drug daily after the dr must have titrated it to know the amount you require to balance your hormone. And getting pregnant is an uphill task if your hormone is not balanced.

    1. Pls where did u do ur surgery?

    2. Please what other symptoms did u have apart from the weight loss. I have lost weight myself and I plan on going to the hospital but I can't afford to right now.

  18. It's not just prevalent in older women, I have suffered from hypothyroidism symptoms since forever; extreme sensitivity to cold and heat, brain fog, dry skin, insomnia, slow metabolism, etc.
It wasn't diagnosed early and then I couldn't afford the treatment and it requires a lot of supplements. Virgin coconut oil helps but I stopped using it since the price increased, and I've added weight even though I don't eat much.
I barely slept last night, God help me this hot season. It is well...

  21. I never knew the importance of having a thyroid until mine was surgically removed. I have to take Levothyroxine every day now for the rest of my life. It’s a hassle but I thank God the tumor on my thyroid wasn’t cancerous.

  22. My sister in-law almost died last year in our house from this disease. It was a doctor friend of mine that diagnosed her of this sickness. Now she is ok and taking her drugs. And I hear the sickness is for life. You just manage it. I pray for healing for you lepacious Bose.

  25. @Leelee and the other anonymous- there is hypothyroidism which makes you add weight and it’s the hyperthyroidism that makes one lose weight . She has/had hypothyroidism so the weight gain is understandable.
