  5. True talk. I have been working for 7years and I have been able to save almost 2m untouched. I save 30k every month or sometimes if I can’t afford the 30, I do 25k. I pay rent of 400k every year and save 25k every month towards it in a separate account.
This ones do not include fueling and feeding money oh. Chai.

Sometimes I wonder if I am not doing so well when I hear all these aspire to acquire. And these are people you know when they all started.

But after sometime I found out that the key to survival is be consistent and always ask God to bless your hustle.

    It’s not easy oh.

    1. Is rent of 400k per year not too much for your salary? Maybe you should look for cheaper houses of like 200k or 150k per year. With that you will be able to save more per month. My dad told me when I started working that I should never live in a house that's more than my monthly take home. I.e. if you're not earning upto 400k per months as salary then it is not wise to spend up to that on house rent per year. Sorry for my long epistle.

    2. It doesn't always work like that. The cheapest 1bedroom apartment is around 200k, how many people/ families earn up to that in a month?

    3. I bet Anon 10:30 lives in Abuja. That's the average cost of a self con. It's not easy out there. I really wish Nigeria had good mortgage system. Rather than give 400k to landlords you can put it towards your own property. Your doing great Anon 10:30. Prayers for upliftment.

    4. Some people also pay that high for proximity sake especially in Lagos. I'll rather spend 500k into stay in Lekki if i work in VI or Lekki than stay in Berger and be suffering in traffic. A friend did it and his work life balance changed. Guy is fresher than when he was travelling to work.

  8. All the motivation gibberish has also led some real hard working people to commit suicide.

  9. It reminds of when I was sitting with some friends, a girlfriend to one of the guys said mike (not my real name) will Soon earn salary and every body burst out in laughter. Apparently, all of them are yahoo boys so they are mocking me the meagre salary earner.
