The General Superintendent Of Assemblies Of God Church Sacked Over Alleged Affair

Rev. Chidi Okoroafor, the general superintendent of the Assemblies of God church, has been suspended and dismissed.

He was dismissed after the church looked into the case of his immoral affair with a US based woman, Mrs Maurissal Nwosu.

His dismissal was announced during the church’s General Committee emergency sitting yesterday.

A former district Lagos superintendent, Isaac Mpamugo led the panel that investigated the immoral relationship between Okoroafor and Maurissal thereby dismissing him since it was contrary to Bible principles and the constitution and bye-laws of the church.

The Executive Committee of the church also ordered him to hand over all Assemblies of God properties in his possession.

The church has empowered Rev Ejikeme Ejim to take over as Acting General Superintendent after Okoroafor's sack..

But the solid foundation that God has laid cannot be shaken; and on it are written these words: "The Lord knows those who are his" and "Those who say that they belong to the Lord must turn away from wrongdoing."2 Tim. 2:19

    1. Exactly, that's how it should be. We can't have people like him in leadership role.

    3. Exactly! I truly respect such churches. Some churches hail their pastors for doing wrong. Discipline is very biblical

    5. @Friend, you got that right.
The church denominations that cover, defend and condone all manner of vices are not built on the foundation of Christ.

AG and Deeper Life follow the Biblical injunction to expel the immoral brother. (They will announce your name, your sin and give you the back seat so you could still come to church and hear the word of God, so you could be contrite and genuinely repent).

      1 Cor 5 v1-12

11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[c] but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

    1. Snarker, it is not about who is without sin casting the first stone. No one is without sin but do we continue in sin because grace abounds? Just like if you have a terminal disease and they say don't drink milk to get well am sure you wouldn't want to die so you will stop. So why then would a man of God conderm his soul for immoral acts. Read it is there in the Bible to purge people of his kind from the flock before he carries them along. No one is a judge but if you want to serve God then do the right thing and leave story cause in the last day there will be no excuses. Why do we even come up with this kind of your excuse in the first place? If Jesus our master whom they claim is man while on Earth did not commit such atrocities why should they? My friend living right is not difficult at all it is a decision try it.Good luck

    2. Should we continue then in sin that grace may abound????? God forbid

    1. AG has been in the news negatively for sometime now, from Power tuzzle, fund embezzlement to sex scandals. Imagine where Pastors are moving around with armed thugs. Their story plenty. It is well.

    2. Most likely a set up. When people want your position they do everything they can to tarnish your name, if it doesn’t work.. they use sex scandal... I have seen this done to many ministers...

    3. And from the story the General overseer wasn't given a chance to prove himself, the lady in question has not being brought forward, u know he did the best thing stepping aside. So many think being a leader us about the fame and the name. lol. Last last Jesus will build His Church and the gate of hell shall not prevail

  16. Kudos to the church. They didn't follow the Fatoyinbo/CAN format. I feel funny about them publishing the name of the woman- she ain't no pastor and there was a consensual affair. It was the guy that broke his own commitment to his office/job. Her repentance is between her and her creator as she has not abused any office.

Oya, oga come and join we backbenchers in next level. I wonder what they will tell their children Daddy is doing back at home or sitting at the back during service. Would he still be leading family altar at home? How is pastor Mrs. Going to deck her hat on Sunday and where would she sit?... And she is not the sinner o 😭😭😭. All for an orgasm. Na wa...

    1. Why shouldn't they mention the name of the woman? She chose to have an affair with him despite being married. She should also face the consequences of her actions

    2. If the man truly repent and humbly accept his faults, his wife and children will accept him, he should not bother what people say,or where he sits in church but the most important thing to him is to make heaven which is The ultimate. Everything on earth is vanity. Judge nit not my people. God bless you all.

  17. This one is set up ,he isn't the first pastor to be promiscuous and definitely won't be the last.I am not justifying his sexcapade, but whoever is without sin should be the first to cast stone.

Lol and you are not justifying his sins??
How do y'all always discover Biblical scriptures that supports your wordly pleasures??
Pastor's like him are the reason why many youths no longer have turned away from the Church..
If you are not part of the solution, you are the problem..

  20. This is unbelievable while commendable. I respect this church called Assemblies of God.

What do this woman has to say concerning this. I pity the pastor and his entire family. What a shame!

  21. This same man used to cry in his messages in those days asking "are we still brethren" Imagine his impetus. He fought Pastor Paul Emeka and succeeded in dividing AG into two. Left many committed Christians dead in the process. I mean,my mother is an ardent AG member,I was too. So many times,we would go to church and stay close to the door because of the many fights going on during the power tussle. This katakata was too much. Brethren divided into two, became enemies over night, fighting in the church and altar of concentration. It was hell of a fight between the legally elected Paul and forcely installed chidi. At a point I asked myself, can chidi not give up this fight for heavens sake? Why not allow Paul to finish his tenure for heaven's sake. Little did we know that he is a wolve in sheep clothing. Ordinary penis,he could not fight but he had the power to fight Emeka and even dragged him to court. No wonder my sister called him agent of darkness. He was sent from hell to tarnish the church. Pastor Osueke, come and carry your pikin oo. May God help me
