    1. I wonder oo. Wickedness everywhere. What is difficult in transferring money to us.

So someone will trek or enter bus to go and queue for food. Tufia

    2. Do you happen to have a social register of all eligible tax paying Nigerians?
How easy is it to collate the number of active and or dormant accounts/ accounts of deceased who are unreported?
Is it feasible to transfer money to all and sundry? Those whose means of livelihood has been affected by the pandemic and those who are not?
It's never as simple as we all make it seem. They're trying their best and can only improve over time. And you honestly cannot compare us with countries who have had a system working in place for years.

    6. Lagos state government and such irresponsibility. Instead of them to give them food so they can stay at home, cook and maintain social distance, they are asking them to come out and collect food. For how long. Very unfortunate.

    7. 12:48 thanks for teaching them.

It's not as easy as people think.

People get to eat that one meal and have hope of another till the lockdown is lifted. Taking care of hunger will keep them off the temptation to steal or break in.

I wish this Soup Kitchens would continue to feed the poor and homeless after the pandemic.

Lagos State Governor and Government are trying.
      Very commendable.

  6. Nice one. It's like food stamp program. BUT no matter how careful you are, social distancing guidelines will be breached. Then why not get monies into the accounts/hands of the most vulnerable so that they can fend for themselves with ease.
After all, the contract for this food bank will be running into hundreds of billions of Naira.
Naija and our penchant for eating from the misery of the majority.

They are doing what they can for now. Maybe they would get to sending money to the accounts of the vulnerable.

    2. 12:05 please, ask them.
There is no pleasing these people.

I suggested Soup Kitchens on this blog. It's good that people in government had the same idea.

Homeless and vulnerable people get to eat at least a meal each day.

      Commendable.

  8. It would have been better if they are given money like every other developed countries .This is pure showing off. People can actually cook rice by themselves. Or better still, encourage and empower bakery owners to bake bread for their communities. Things can work if proper mechanisms are put into place

    1. Thanks for this comment. And this shouldn't be limited to the island alone, where they feel they can easily access people and show off. So many people are not finding this lockdown easy in terms of hunger. If not for the Grace of God that is sufficient for us.

    2. What he is doing is actually good cos some people don't have the means to even cook the raw food they share, some are homeless, often times tge ingredients to cook the food are not even complete,so these is good, but the thing is,It's not free Sanwo Olu has given these restaurateur huge money. In real sense,to operate a soup kitchen has to be charity, not that you will give contract to people who have long leg in Naija pay them huge money to be distributing what they sell(food).Shady people, shady country, everything they must put magomago.

    1. You people are wonderful ooooo. Ahhh give money, how many people can they reach to give money? AHH Han, Una too complain. This food kitchen if followed properly is a beautiful idea. even if na under bridge person dey e go still see food chop. Even if it is one meal that day, but they are sure of food .plus there is no way a politician can steal cooked rice home. Even the America we are copying have soup kitchens all over the town that people go and get a hot meal once or twice a day. Please Lagos State this is a great initiative and please keep it up. Also please Lagos state allow the food to be balance with nice protein. That is all I ask.
We don't even have the statistics to give money sef, but with this food own, it is accessible to everyone regardless of tribe or age.

  12. Abeg, they should be given raw foodstuffs, if at all they can't be given money. How do we know the meal is safe to eat? We can't guarantee the health status of the people involved in the cooking and distribution. This is a perilous time, we need to be extra careful.

    Blessings

    1. Can you blame them for starying with the more civilised areas when they know in the parts of lagos you mentioned, miscreants might attack the workers in order to cart away the food meant to feed as many people as possible.

Naija and their wuruwuru, taaaa they are giving these restaurateurs contracts to cook and share these food, most of the money still goes to these business people,Iya eba is a very known restaurant, governors, senators, honourables go their to eat, these people are catching in on this covid19,make una continue🤨😶😶😶 Sanwo Olu,lagos Island is not the only lagos we have in Nigeria, you are concentrating only on that area, what about people living on the mainland, there is yaba,bariga,surulere,ketu,Mile-12,Ikorodu,Ikeja,Iju,Ogudu,Abule egba,Iyana ipaja, satelite town,Mile-2,Apapa,Ajegunle,Oshodi,Amukoko,the list is endless.everyone of these places have their local governments, arrange with their local governments workers and do these in all local governments, don't just concentrate on one side and say you are working.
