  1. KEEP ON KEEPING ON
You’re doing good, so keep it up. You’re making progress, so make some more.

You’ve learned, you’ve adapted, you’ve done the work, and improved on it. You’ve had setbacks along the way, and conditions have changed, yet you’ve moved forward anyway.

Now, keep up the effective effort. Now, persist and get the job done.

You’ve resisted the temptation to hide behind excuses. You’ve chosen to pay the price necessary to reach the goal.

You’re heavily invested now, so make that investment count. Follow through, continue to do what must be done, and get where you’ve chosen to go.

You’ve already discovered you can do what it takes. Just keep on keeping on, and finish your good work.

  2. Rhapsody Today!!

    We're Christ's Epistles!!
    2 Corinthians 3:2.(NIV)

    Excerpts!!

"Who's Jesus? He's the living Word; the Word who became flesh. To be Christ's epistle, therefore, means you're Christ's Word in flesh, and Christ's Word is God's Word"

"So, you're the Word of God in flesh. Some people can't handle this with their religious mind, but it's simple to understand when you realise that in life, everything gives birth after its kind: dogs give birth to dogs, humans give birth to humans, the Word gives birth to the Word"

"As offsprings of the Word, we're the epistles (Word) of Christ"

    Today's Confession!!

I'm born of God; therefore, I'm a living epistle, a letter from Christ, known and read by all, full of glory, virtue and honour. I express the divine nature, living the kingdom life of victory, prosperity, peace and joy now and always, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

  5. I grew up in an environment where we speak more of Yoruba. Went to school in this environment ,dated Yoruba guys and d non-yoruba I was with for few month lives in this same environment.
Then I relocated to another state started dating this cool Delta guy. He is so foine, eloquent, speaks phonetics. He knows I'm bright academically but last night, he broke my speech confidence. He started by making me promise not to get annoyed or be down with what he wanted to say. I made the promise and don't have any choice than to keep to the promise.

Boo said I am good with my tenses and vocabularies ( I noticed he uses some of them & he attested to that) but I have issue with H-factor. This came as a shock to me cos no one ever told me this, not even my mentor that is eloquent and she's is Edo,so we don't speak Yoruba at all. He spent an hour tutoring me on the best ways to pronounce words that have 'h, ea, a, an' in them. Eg, he said d only issue is that I call "hand" instead of and, heat instead of eat, Hi insstayof I. I don't see these as big deal cos I don't remove h in words like shift, I don't confuse ch and sh, I don't call letter H as Age. I'm not like Falz ( no pun intended)
My brain and mouth were just turnininoin last night. He even said I and Khloe of Big brother are similar. He said "I want to improve you and make you my woman". "I love you, I want to keep you, I'm not with you just cos of fuck but I will like you to improve on some things for me". Am I that bad? You saw I was like this before we started dating o. Should this be an issue at all if he loves me as he claims? I talk really fast which is genetic and he wants me to always slow down cos according to him, I pronounced these words better when I talk slow. It's like guyman wants to change who I am. I know of fine Yoruba and igbo babes with conc intonations and they're married to cool guys without the guys having any issues with them. See Alex Ekubo and Sharon in bling lagosians nau. Is that not love.

I am naturally a quiet person, hardly talk in public but flow well with my inner circle of friends. He asked if my h-factor is the reason for my introvert nature. This made me feel bad. How can I know I have a problem when no one ever mentioned it to me? My mentor who is not a yoruba never complained as we communicate in English. Please my people, what app can I use to learn cos I have lots of class presentations ahead of me and I need to be better. How can I do this without letting him know I'm not happy.
Lemme even go and ask my senior colleague if I really have a problem or see if guy man is not just proud of me. Will this kind of man stay if he meet my mum that is even struggling with her tenses?

Most times, issues like this can be sensitive and people may not know how to tell you.
So do your investigation and know your next line of action.
My husband for instance would always correct me on daily basis when we got married newly,he did it with love, but some times I felt bad, I have been a bv for about 6years now and fear of people who like to correct you rudely has made not to get a blog Id. I want to be better so am here commenting and hope to be corrected with love and also to improve my written English and I gat mad love for Stella!.

    4. That is the beginning of the end of your relationship, mark my word.... i dont wish you bad oh, but you cant change a yoruba tongue or anyother for that matter, and if hes mentioning it and trying to correct it, it means it bothers him... something u cant change. Start withdrawing your heart gradually, it'd break.

  6. KEEPING YOUR MIND STAYED ON HIM.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3

My sister, the Lord wants you to experience more and more of His peace in your life. Not just for a moment, He wants you living in the kind of peace that doesn’t make sense to the natural mind. How do you access this kind of peace with everything that’s going on? The Lord tells us in Isaiah 26:3, when we keep our minds stayed on Him, we will be kept in His perfect peace. A practical way to keep your mind on the Lord is to listen to heavenly soaking music during the day and even at night while you sleep. Spa music, smooth jazz or sounds of the ocean won’t do it. It has to be a worshipful and heavenly sound that causes you to instantly think of the Lord. This will minister God’s peace to your mind, your will and your emotions. A troubled mind is not too hard for God to calm. Just as David’s harp calmed King Saul (see 1 Samuel 16:23), heavenly sounding music will settle your emotions and bring your thoughts back into alignment with the Lord.

I was beginning to feel hopeless with the whole 'misunderstood feminist concept' and shallow myopic female everywhere.. but with with I just read, I think there's still hope cos definitely, there are still some more with your mentality out there. Thank you."

You can say that again. That chic is fire! Wish you read a little about her rΓ©sumΓ© here. She gives me hope everyday that I can actually get the type of woman I want. That wonderful creature is intellectually solvent, decorous, diplomatic, very successful, well-read and most importantly truly AFRICAN despite her international exposure! She is the type of woman you want to show your family after the first date. Check out her impeccable command of the English language. It's a turn-on for me.

Ronalda, you're lucky you're married. Although you are older than I am, I would have done anything to marry you. The day I see any woman with your qualities, is the day I quit bachelorhood. You don't get it, if I'm certain there's any single chic out there like you, I'll break this lockdown and go for her.
She doesn't drag anything with men, yet she's the type of woman you will tell "babe, I want to serve you in bed today, what would you want to eat". You wouldn't even want her to go through stress. Not all these hungry razzoids with razz grammar that come here to bash men unnecessarily. Ndi "am fine". Some even beef her because they feel she kowtows to men.

    8. God should give you a woman like Ronalda yen yen yen. I really wonder how old you are ceaser because you lack maturity or emotional intelligence.

Ronalda has been married for over 15 years. If her husband was a dickhead like you he would never have given her a chance or you think she has no flaws? Do you know what they have been through together?

Meanwhile, people grow and learn in marriage and your brain hasn't told you that Ronalda and her blessed husband didn't achieve all these overnight? You think they didn't have their rough days at the beginning and then grew to understand, love and respect each other over time? You think she snapped her fingers and became the perfect wife?

If you like don't get married. Be there picking and choosing. There is no angel or perfect person anywhere, it can never be perfect. Wake up from your slumber, there are still good women out there only if you open your eyes and stop putting yourself on an imaginary pedestal.

    9. Do I really need the first date before I start to show her off to the world? Omo ehn, I start showing her off from my crushing stage oh, then start channeling all the energies from cosmic powers, law of attraction, while making conscious effort to claiming my possession😊😊..

Truly her comment was a breath of fresh air, in the midst of a lot of comment with village girls mind sef. I just took 'judicial' notice of her yesterday and would always look out to her wisdom whenever I come across it again.. I'll lov to experience the good feeling I had again.. while at it, I think I'll go back to that post so I can meditate on the comment while imagining I had a girl that sensible.. what a better way to light up one's day in this lock down period..lol .. 27. Gwagwalada is so hot, I stay in hajj camp but yet the light here is tertible even thou is one of the big men area. All my activities are done in gwagwalada, including the job I am doing. It will be foolish of me to rent an apartment in lube or airport road just to stress myself because of light. I don't want to run from frying pan to fire because I am looking for light.

I have generator that can power air conditioner and freezer. Buying fuel every week is not easy but with the heat here and lack of power supply one has no choice. We usually have enough water but light is something else.

  40. Blessed is the hand that giveth than the one that taketh.

So, I've got a testimony to share.

There's this pregnant orphan girl in my area here in benue. Girl is not up to 19 sef. Just got pregnant and the guy that impregnated her absconded. She had just one sister. But that one is a maid in Abuja. The place she's staying was given to her for free after explaining her predicament to the landlord. So, we became friends after a while. I will cook and give her. Sometimes I buy foodstuffs and share with her. She will kneel while thanking me. I took her like a younger sister. This I did because she wasn't lazy at all. Goes to farm for people, washed clothes, helped pound sef for a token.

Last week she gave birth In one government hospital. Twins, but one couldn't make it. She called and told me where she kept her little savings. I went there took some money and sorted the bills. They discharged her the following day. When we got home, I went to the market to get the basics. I brought provisions, things I will use to make pepper soup for her and a few foodstuffs. When I took those things to her, she started crying profusely. I became so emotional and cried hard with her. After the whole crying drama, I set to work. Prepared the pepper soup and we ate.

Point of story, I've received double of what I spent on that girl. I kid you not. So, what I'm trying to say with this epistle? If you have a means of helping someone, please do not hold back. God will surely reward you...

    Una good morning.

  44. My boss at the the shop is a young woman like me, she used to make some not-too- serious outfit for me. I chose to learn with her because she's someone I could relate well with and her price was quite affordable. She's not a fantastic tailor o but she was who I needed for my basics.

On the first day, I woke up earlier than usual, prepared our breakfast and lunch, packed our bags, bathed and left the house. I took a bike, dropped my daughter at her school, same bike took me to the shop. I arrived at a little after 7:30, our shop was not opened yet but my madam lives just opposite the shop. I went to get the key. She was still in her nightie but she followed me to the shop, opened it and taught me how to pedal the machine, that was what I was to do that day. She left to take a shower. I started. Oh, how I kept back-pedalling. At a point I was frustrated. Luckily one of the apprentices came and helped me, she kept encouraging me to get it right. After a while, I started to get it right. Next, my madam gave me a piece of cloth to do a fake sew(without thread). The piece of cloth moved forward anytime I back pedalled. I kept failing. And trying and failing and trying until I got it.

My closing time was two pm because of my daughter but I didn't want to stop. When I got home, I couldn't stop thinking about the sewing machine, I ate it, dreamt it and longed to lay my hands on it again. I downloaded sewing videos and watched, I wanted to know it all, it was a deep thirst within me.

Everyday, I learned something new and my passion, attentiveness and determination was a big advantage because I learnt quite fast. I asked a lot of questions too and madam liked that. SHE IS A GOOD TEACHER. There were two other apprentices at the shop but I don't get to see one often because she's a secondary school student and mostly come on weekends. I don't go to work on Saturdays. The other apprentice was a real sweetheart, always putting me through.

Our opening hour is 9am but I was usually at the shop before 8am. We have a timetable for cleaning the shop but because I come before everyone, I cleaned everyday. My boss didn't like it but I assured her it wasn't a big deal. After the chore, I work the machine and practice the previous lesson. By 9am, I must learn something new everyday. I also practiced the fashion lessons I watched online. I didn't have a sewing machine so the only time I had to practice freely at the shop was between 8 and 9am.

After the first week, I could sew, although the first sets of dresses I made was a huge disaster. My boss cut and I sew. The third week, I learnt how to fix a zip, take measurements, cut different styles of fabric and sew better. Madam was even amazed at my pace. I bought two pieces of those #1200 ankara, for practice. But I could only practice when we didn't have a client which was rare. I knew I needed a sewing machine at home. That week, I traded my freezer turned cupboard for a manual sewing machine. I bought other sewing materials and more cheap fabrics. After installing the machine and arranging a little fashion corner in my room, I bought a chilled coke, drank and beamed in pride and joy. That was when the real training began.

  47. How can you stay in the same house with a man for the past two years without him making love to you or eating your food yet he provides. You only communicate through your innocent young children . Tell daddy there is no gas. Tell mummy l have travelled. He said you beat his mum and he will not eat your food till you go to the village and beg the mum and you replied over your dead body. Baby girl you will be a mother in-law one day even though your first child is 10yrs. You had the gut to buy a land and opened a bear parlour without informing him in the name of preparing your future for the unknown. His people cannot visit and stay the next day yet your grown up cousin has been staying with you for years. Bought a car in your house and has refused to leave. Your mother visits often and stay for months before leaving. Hmmm how do people sleep at night knowing the person you claim to love went to bed with empty stomach?. How do you feel raising innocent children in such toxic environment. Anyone that intervene is termed an enemy. I wish you can read this. Your husband loves your children that is why he has refused to leave the house for you. He is afraid of losing the children to you because of their age that is why he had refused to get a divorce. But their is something cooking. You will be shocked when the food is done. I beg you in Gods name. Give peace a chance in your home. For the sake of your innocent children. Reconcile with your husband and his people. God please have mercy on most marriages.

  50. Prostitutes reduce a man to poverty, and the adulteress steals your soul— she may even cost you your life! For how can a man light his pants on fire and not be burned? Can he walk over hot coals of fire and not blister his feet? What makes you think that you can sleep with another man’s wife and not get caught? Do you really think you’ll get away with it? Don’t you know it will ruin your life?

  53. I'd come back from the shop, wash my baby's uniform and help with assignments. She either sleeps or go off to to play with her friends while I work. I joined pieces of clients' clothes together to practice and then tried a better version on a new fabric. I watched videos and worked until midnight everyday. I only paused on occasions to attend to my baby. I forgot about food, internet, outings and what not. Fashion was all that mattered, I had a powerful zeal. But things became tough because I was spending so much on my personal training. I sew dresses for my daughter and her friends, myself and more. I made trousers, peplum blouse and six pieces skirt, trendy tops, boubou.
I cut down expenses on feeding (just me), transportation, internet and shaved my hair. I began to trek a lot, eat less and wore face caps. But I bloomed like a fresh flower because I was doing something I loved.

I recharge my torch at my neighbor's house in the evening when they power their generator and burned candles. The generator stays on till midnight but at 10pm, I collect the torch and work with it until midnight and sometimes 2am. One morning on my way out, the man of the house told me to get an electrician to connect light from his house to mine for fan and light. He could hear me working every night. I couldn't believe my ears, tears of gratitude filled my eyes. It didn't cost much to do the connection and till date, I use free light almost every night. Nepa or no Nepa.

I was going through my notes one night and I came across something I jotted down from 'The Richest Man in Babylon'.

"The more of wisdom we know, the more we may earn. That man who seeks to learn more of his craft shall be richly rewarded. If he is an artisan, he may choose to learn the methods and tools of those most skillful in the same line...
Always do the affairs of man change and improve because keen-minded men seek greater skill that they may better serve those upon whose patronage they depend. Therefore, I urge all men to be in the front rank of progress and not stand still, lest they be left behind".

Hmmmmmm. I went into deep thoughts. How do I improve my skill? My madam tried her best and is a good teacher but she didn't know it all especially trendy, top notch fashion. She didn't know most of the sophisticated and extraordinary styles I saw online. I watched the videos and practiced to an extent but I still needed a real life tutorial. Another thing, we only used manual sewing machine at the shop and we know they're going out of fashion for outstanding designs. I didn't even know how to use the industrial /electric sewing machine. What was I to do?

I remembered Nasiru, my tailor during owambe days. The guy knew his onion and was the best there is but he, was a heartbreaker. His middle name was. Nasiru can disappoint you on your wedding day. Very unserious fellow. But he was quite good, the best really. I struck a friendship with him but after he misplaced my lace fabric, I cussed him and deleted his number. He called me sometime last year to invite me to his wedding, I remembered my lace and told him point blank I wasn't coming. He was hurt but I didn't care.

At this point, I needed Nasiru's help but I didn't even have his number. I thought of the saying 'don't burn bridges no matter how hurt you are'. I burnt a bridge, now how do I cross?
I had no choice but to go to Gwarimpa to look for him...

Good morning everyone. I'll conclude the story tomorrow. Thanks Ron, Sonia, Essa. I read the ihn quite late.

  54. Hear me and hear me Well.

Honestly, making a hundred friends is not a miracle.
A miracle is to make a single friend that will stand by your side even when hundreds are against you.

Be careful with those you mingle with.
Some friends comes into your life to destroy you.
Some comes to get something from you ,once they get it, they hurt you and go.
    Some comes to tempt you.
Some comes to bring you down both physically, spiritual and financially.
    Some comes to mock you.
Some friends makes you regret ever knowing them.
Some comes and cause more pains, tears, weeping, and sorrow in your life.
Some friends are responsible for your barrenness.
Some are responsible for that ugly situation you are in today.
Some are the reason for that sickness,
Some are responsible for that hardship.
Be careful with those who dance around you and called themselves your friend.

The only honest, sincere, trusted, faithful and truthful friend to have is JESUS. He is the only one that can never fail, He can never change, and can never disappoint.

Since I chose Him as my one and only friend He has never failed me before.
Get closer to Him and see yourself shining in His Glory.GOD CAN NOT FAIL
