Where are those people selling foodstuff?why don't you advertise and do house deliveries when you make sales....

This would have been a time for anyone smart to make money...Package your things well and sell.......Of course you will collect delivery money as well....it would help those who dont wanna leave their houses..

Talking about shopping,on Saturday I am going over to African shop to buy a carton of Indomie noodles and plantain for my Bambis..They love and i have run out of.....Kids love indomie too much..My boys eat indomie every night and they cook it themselves....I love that they have become independent so i am encouraging them cos it takes cooking stress off me.....
No be kitchen dem born me...LOL

I have not really been commenting a lot cos of network issues here but I do read all posts especially at night, my prayer is that the good Lord sees us through this trying period...Amen.


I don't know where this fits, I don't even know if it's worth posting, but if u think it is, then post anywhere.


This staying at home has made us to have lots of time to think and remember past events... though with kids every minute is filled with activities.
So I just remembered something that happened to me when I delivered my second baby and I felt I should share with my fellow bvs especially the females. I was delivered of a beautiful baby gal on Nov.24th last year, mumsy was around so even from the hospital she started the tummy massage with hot water and all. Did this everyday morning and night for 2 weeks and then once a day for the next one week. 



As I wasn't given an episiotomy (unlike my first), the pains I felt wasn't much. In fact , I was wearing shorts, leggings...etc a day after delivery ( I couldn't do all these when I had my first child cos of the episiotomy). So I felt, now I'm gonna sit, walk, keep legs anyhow I like.


Then 3 weeks postpartum, I noticed that when I walk there's this funny noise that emanates from my VJ, like kwirim kwirim...I thought it's maybe something that happens after delivery of subsequent children cos I'm sure I never experienced it during my first. But as the days go by, it kept going on, I didn't know what to do. 


I was expecting mum or my hubby to even ask me cos the sound to me was audible enough but they didn't so I suspected it might not be that loud...but I know I didn't like this one bit. 

I began thinking of what to do, I thought of calling my elder sis to ask her, I thought of calling my aunt who was a nurse, I considered telling mumsy but i didn't feel like discussing this yet with anyone. That was when I thought why not I go to the hospital where I delivered, it's just a stone throw from my house. It was in the course of preparing to go that I now remembered an event.


So there was this Monday I went for ANC in the hospital, I went late so I was the second to the last person. While waiting for the doctor I had this sick feeling, I felt like throwing up. So I went behind a window, there was a bench so I sat down waiting for the sick feeling to pass. While there, I overheard a woman talking to the midwife ( I wasn't trying to eavesdrop or something but I can't block my ears nah...lol). 


So the woman was asking the midwife what she could do, that since after having her baby, she has being noticing that her vj makes sound whenever she is walking. That her husband is even complaining as the sound is embarrassing. 



The midwife asked her when she put to bed, she said it's up to 6 months. She asked her if she was sitting with her legs closed together after she delivered, the woman said not really. There was no episiotomy so she did things anyhow she liked. The nurse told her that what she did was wrong, episiotomy or not, that a baby passed through there, so she should have sat with her legs closed at least for a week post partum to allow her heal properly. 

But that anyway, since it has occurred she should from then henceforth sit with her legs closed tightly and then do sitz bath twice or thrice a day if possible. Told she will get better but it might take time seeing that it's already months this had been happening. The midwife was still trying to say something else when I heard a nurse my name, I had to hurry in to see the doctor and after I left and forgot the whole episode.


So when I had this flashback, I decided to practice what the midwife said to that woman, I decided I will do it for 2 weeks and if there was no improvement then I will go and see the doctor. That was how I started sit bathing morning and night, after like 4 days I noticed the sound has reduced drastically, in fact, I couldn't even hear it sometimes. I continued and by one week, I couldn't hear anything at all. I resolved I must do it till the 2 weeks I initially thought and I did it, all these time I was free. After 2 weeks, I stopped, I was afraid it might come back when I stop doing it but nothing came back. My baby will be 5 months on the 24th of this month and till now I never felt nor heard the sound again.


I'm not a medical personnel so I don't know the rationale behind this, if u do u can tell us. I only wanted to share my experience so that others can learn from it. May God continue to bless all the mothers and the expectant mums. For those wanting the fruit of the womb, the good Lord will grant you your heart desires according to riches and glory.

      To use on your phone, you can either stream or download to watch later but you can only watch it on the App meaning it won't be saved on your gallery, it will be saved under downloads in the Netflix app ...

  2. Congratulations Castle. I read your post this morning, fashion designing is the best skill every female should go learn. Thou, it's not easy at first, but with time, you will love. I started fashion designing when I was still in school, look at me today.

    When I started my course mates were laughing, now they see my work and always proud of me.

    Like Miss Aboki said, I would have prefer you to learn from the road side, this big big fashion school, don't really teach much and their money is very big and you won't learn anything.

    People that comes to us, have all gone to one big fashion school and they dont know anything. Everything is all about patterns and it might not be that easy.

    3. I enrolled in a fashion school & I learnt nothing. I still beat myself to this day, the little I knew was learning on my own, asking & YouTube., Coupled with distance, it was draining & I just signed out. Fashion designing isn't for me., To think I paid in full oh. The money pain me die.

    4. Most people are wicked,I know of a friend, where she went learnt sewing years back, her boss will send her to get something whenever he wants to cut clothes. And she couldn't learn before she left the country.

      My work place, we teach you everything, if you stay with us, before six months you must have learn how to cut. Whenever I want to make dress, I tell those young girls to do it. We teach them everything.

      Look for a good place to learn, if you want to, some bosses are wicked.

You're right Sonia...i went to the "big fashion school" and learnt with patterns, e.g when on sleeves we were taught how to make all kinds of sleeves and you had to get it perfectly before proceeding to the next sleeve type but then if your money expires while at it, that's the end lol! Had to go back to learn freehand from the regular tailor.
      Got the most amazing customers when I advertised here that year (God bless you so much Stella).

    9. @Sonia, I beg to differ. Fashion school is not a waste of money and believe you me, free hand is not the best.

      It's true that some fashion schools don't teach much and some are way too expensive. That's why I always advise people to ask around well and go to one you know someone that has gone to. Most road side tailors don't teach jack and apprentices end up spending years there without learning anything. The madams cut clothes when the apprentices are not around.

      I went to a fashion school in Lagos and the CEO is lenient, in that by the end of the 6months, if you have not completed the syllabus or learnt everything, she will give you the extra time to complete it and without paying another fee. I did mine and completed in 6months and before the 6months sef, I was already collecting simple styles from customers.

      The thing about fashion designing is focus and determination. If you are not, 10yrs won't even be enough for you to learn but if you are, you will learn all you need to by the end of the 6months.

      Another thing is that no fashion house or even road side tailor will teach you everything cos fashion is evolving. That's where YouTube comes in and even going for extra trainings. Me, I do YouTube. There's no kind of style I can't figure out by watching YouTube. I first use lining to practise it before replicating it on a customer's cloth.

      Pattern is the way forward and much better.

  3. So, I'm going to be talking about my experience with my SnM boo, (well, not yet defined, but it will be, very soon).
    Let's call him Boo and call me Bae.

    I met Boo in the very first snm, we connected, I always connect with everyone by the way. We were so comfortable talking about anything and everything, my only problem was, we were in different states but same country.
    I thought he was a pervert because he loved talking about sex and sexual stuff. So one day, I remember telling him that the day he will sleep with me, he will never let me go, (well, I'm that good). But because I am everything and more, he laughed it off. I enjoyed his silly chats, I used to pass time chatting with him because I get bored sometimes, as per introvert.

    I started avoiding talking with him when I almost got married to one of my boyfriends (story for another day) and we totally stopped talking.

    Only to dream that I went to his house and was shocked. A guy who is 6feet 3 in real life now looking like a 5feet8 in the dream.   15. I am also going to the Nigerian shop today. We have almost run out of gari, we are out of semo and almost out of poundo yam.

    My love for plantain made me queue for almost two hours to get into the only supermarket that I kkow that sells it. That day I was determined.

    Normally, I would only buy 4 pieces of unripe ones at a time but I wasn't about to queue for just 4 pieces of plantain, so I took 8 instead.

    Now the place I buy yam has been on lock down since this corona virus lock down. I've been desperately searching for any other place. I didn't know I could crave yam this badly.

    10. The English name is tamarind. Go to the Hausa/Nothern guys that sell ginger, garlic, onion, spices or salad vegetables.
      but be careful if you suffer from low blood sugar, because it can reduce your blood sugar and make you weak immediately if it's not going well... I had to take two bottle of big coke the day I took it to gain my strength back.
      It's brown in color and sour... You dissolve it in water..... Pronounce it as SAMIYA if you can't pronounce the TSA..... Some of them won't know it as tamarind.

    1. Hello;there is an option to "send" and also "receive" on xender..

      If you are the "sender" then what you explained up there happens..
      If you are the receiver,then the other phone which you want to take a movie from has to scan your own phone;hence you don't need your camera..

      Any option you choose;you can either send or receive after pairing..

      Hope this helps..

    5. @Anon 14:43,the option displays on your screen just before pairing..
      Except the option is different on an iPhone.

      However you can download itunes if you have a computer;then use a USB to connect and copy whatever you need from your device(or any other..

      There are other sharing apps however for iPhone Which you can checkout such as Xshare,ShareMe,EasyShare etc and most don't require scanning a barcode..


      @UgGirl;it's either the "watch" has ended(you received the notification late on your device) or your device doesn't accept the format to play the video;meaning you have to upgrade to another device..

After each delivery of my kids and my mum comes to the hospital ( As we all live in lagos) from that very moment, she insists i sit with my legs closed and when we get back home, She insists for the first 2 weeks that I sit on a wooden stool ( there is this hard wooden tool my carpenter made.....only God knows where he got that wood from) I breast feed on that stool all day.
