    2. @Queen it happens everywhere the rates are different. There are countries where these incidents are low, but in Nigeria it is high. Nigeria is rated top 10 worst countries to be a woman

    3. While I agree with her, I will also refer the current racist Ongoing situation In thΓ© US and Other pets of the world. I wouldn’t want my child to be born into such a place that makes him feel less than himself because of the color of his skin.

    4. @white enchantress! I tell u. With George Floyds case. No one should be happy to come live in America. Killer cops kneel on someone's neck for almost 9 minutes in broad daylight and no one could stop them? I don't think that's even possible in naija. We r our brother's keepers. Plus this cop would soon be acquited. Over 200 black deaths. Many more unrecorded. Blacks in the US living in fear. Relocate at ur own peril

    Your decision.
We all want what's best for our kids. God help us all.
But there's danger everywhere in the world.

  3. But she’s a product of the rot in the system.
If she isn’t then I wonder what a young girl like her with a man as old as her ancestor especially as she has her future ahead of her. Wonder what she’d tell her daughter that attracted her to her husband if not greed.
Madam Nyash down because that thing you are in is more of Rape than marriage. Everyone now has an opinion.

    9. I totally agree with u. She is not in a position to contribute to the current issue. She is a total disgrace to young girls. A 19 yrs old girl married a 59 yrs old man? Wot exactly shud i call that? Love? Or wot?

    10. There is no need to be so caustic. She simply stated her opinion on the matter.
No need to cyberbully her because nobody will say anything

    11. Regina that is practicing TECHNICAL RAPE is still talking. Shame on her a girl that was born 2001 according to her dad she disowned dsdes open her mouth to castigate RAPE!! You see why things ain't evr taken seriously. Regina you were 18 infact less than 18 because you were born October 2001 and you married your Pa Ned before you turned 18 is looking condescendingly at rape in the midst of your TECHNICAL RAPE debacle. Who is fooling who. Shame on you,, you have no decency or any shred of morality in you. A money grubber that would have married a MAN EVEN 10 years older than your oldie if given the chance. Who says you wouldn't even JUMP SHIP if a richer man comes your way older than Ned or not. Our society lost its values and fast too!!

Is it prohibited in Nigerian constitution? Is she unhappy?

Is Shade Okoya not married to an older man and u people come here and praise her?
Pray... Tell... Do what works for u, your dear father in heaven GOD HATES pple that Judge

    14. What has marriage between 2 consenting adults got to do with what she is preaching about? Like She is the first or will she be the last to marry someone 100 years older than her.
I always say women in this part of the world are their worst enemies.

Anon 19:36 I wonder how many times I’d have to sound it to you all that I’m not a she so aunty take your bile elsewhere and As for you Anon 18:06 can you boldly pray to God for your daughter to go into a marriage like that of Shade?
      We know the answer already.

    16. Most of u talking Nonsense here r products of such. Ur great-grandfather marriage could b examined.

    17. @Anon 18: 06 Shade was 21 when she got married. An adult three times over. That means she was already an adult when she got with Okoya. Regina Daniels was just 18 when she married him. Meaning she was underaged when she got with him. That's wrong, illegal even. The age difference isn't the problem, at least not for me. It's the actual age that Regina got married. She was barely at the age of consent, and it's predatory for a 60 year old to marry a young girl who has just reached the age of consent. It means he was messing with her when she was a minor. That's criminal behavior, and if Regina's mother was not a greedy and exploitative mother, she would have put her foot down. If Regina was 25 or even 23 and Ned was 60, I wouldn't care.
Are you really calling on the Bible, when Mary was 14 years old when she had Jesus? In the times the Bible was written, childhood marriage was not a crime. So should we allow 14 year olds to get married and have kids just because it was alright during the Biblical times? Because that's the same excuse some Northerners use to justify child marriage!

      Delete
    18. Anon 21: 31 you're not making any sense. Our great grandparents practiced child marriage so we shouldn't condemn it? Ned Nwoko was clearly dating Regina when she was still a minor, because they didn't just met each other and decide to marry. They dated for some time.
It is only in a society where women are the weaker sex that in 2020, a young, beautiful and famous girl like Regina will think her only path to a good life is to marry her grandfather's age mate. As young and pretty as she is, she could've used the money she earned from acting to attend a good university in Nigeria or abroad, earn a degree, and start a business and make good money to take care of her family. Are you telling me as pretty as she is and with the circles she moves in, she couldn't have found a young, enterprising, successful man to marry her?
You are mentioning Shade but Shade was a whole university graduate when she got married. So was Bianca. They were both older and more experienced than Regina is. At least their parents allowed them to mature. Regina's mother has sold her and she should be ashamed of herself.Regina is the product of a society where men have the upper hand. So are rapists

    19. Regina is 18 and will be 19 in October. Ned Nwoko is now 64.

May God's touch rest of everyone that has been affected in one way or another, it's really heart wrenching to read all that's going on at the moment πŸ’” 😒 😞.
Please people need to stop the victim shaming culture and stigmatisation ,it would really go a long way in encouraging people to speak up and not protect their victims 😒 πŸ˜”.
It is the rapist/abuser that deserves to be shamed not the victim 😀. May we keep lending our voices to the voiceless.

  11. See ehn, I have been holding back from commenting cos emotions are too high and at this moment, anyone not shouting justice would be tagged a rape apologist.. but do you think you can achieve much with the hate and blame you're throwing on men generally.. last time I checked men are still the ones that protect and fight for women more than their fellow women do..

All this nonsense is just a branch from the root cause which is the insecurity and lawlessness in the country.. each and everyone of us are victims here, albeit in different situations.. no be here we read of the guy weh won go by suya and was picked up by the police, that was how he spent 5years in prison if I remember correctly.. we need to tackle this the right way from the root cause ones and for all if not, I'm sorry to say.. Nothing would change.. these are all part of what you get from a failed system.

The country needs total restructuring and cleasing.

    Peace

    1. Women are afraid of meningitis Nigeria...its that simple. Every woman knows a girl that has been raped, however not everyman know a guy who has raped someone. Every 3.5 girls in 4 have been raped, molested, forced or threatened to have sex. I can boldly work around here and not blink an eye seeing a man, however that was not the case in Nigeria. look at Ghana so peaceful, abeg theres so much wickedness in that country called Nigeria.

    2. Yes o. She can birth anywhere she likes. I just wonder how shallow her thinking is. I'm sure where she wishes she gave birth in is countries like America, Canada etc. Up there two things dey there: 1. Rapists 2.Racism.
      Down here(Nigeria): Rapists.
The key is to pray for safer environment.
Or she means she wishes she gave birth in HEAVEN. Because here (EARTH), RAPISTS & RACISM DEY.

  22. It baffles me when I read about how Nigerians curse their own country, I am a creole but the truth need to be said, Nigeria is a beautiful country created by God but it's we people living in the country and condemning it are the major roots of its problem, our fathers and forefathers started the rot in the country and because of our sentimentalism we can't speak out against them and say the truth
