Oko Ashawo has a testimony..............lol

In the last two weeks, there has been a significant improvement in business and i have had some offline trips that took me to other states.

The most notable one was last week when I went on a four day trip to Lokoja with Mr Lawal, who I met through an old client. Since it had been a while I travelled that way, I asked a friend who was more conversant with that route to advise me on the best way to take based on safety and the state of the roads. 

He said that I could use Google Maps when I get to Akungba after Owo in Ondo State.

When we got to Akungba, I used my Google Maps to navigate us to Lokoja but  if I had known, I for follow the road wey I know jejely o...


After driving on a smooth road for about 45 minutes, we found ourselves on an abandoned road in the forest. By this time, all phone networks had disappeared and the almighty Google Maps began misbehaving... 

A trip that had been filled with laughter and excitement was laced with tension and silence. I couldn’t even look at Mr Lawa anymore. Instead, my eyes were darting to and fro as sweat broke out under my armpits in a car that had full AC...

Shortly afterwards, a herd of cows started crossing the road with some unfriendly looking herdsmen. As we sat watching and waiting for over 10 minutes, i began calculating how much my people could raise as ransom. My heart was literally in my mouth at this time. I kept praying to God to keep us safe, while Mr Lawal on the other hand was busy with his phone and refused to respond when I talked to him.

He later confessed to me when we had settled in our hotel in Lokoja that he was also afraid that we might be attacked by bandits or kidnapped and he was busy deleting all financial records from his phone. He also told me that if I worked in his company and I took their staff on a wrong and dangerous route such as this, I would be sacked for ‘gross misdemeanour’. Hmmmmm ....


I am really grateful to God that the trip eventually went well. I will never rely solely on Google Maps again, especially for the routes I have not taken before when travelling in Nigeria.

Imagine if to say dem kidnap Oko Ashawo...You for no fit read this thing today oh......Ha,i know that i have some haters here but please thank God for me because if this is not a testimony,I don't know what else it is oh.
