Mrs Dee's Corner - Women And The Time They Spend Making Up/Getting Dressed..

If there is one thing most men commonly complain about in their women, it's the amount of time they spend in preparing for an occasion or outing.

From the time spent in the shower, to the time used in picking out the perfect attire and applying make up, can wear a man's patience out.

A man whose wife hardly wastes time in getting dressed is one of the lucky few and I really envy such a woman.

Since time immemorial, my shower time has never gone below twenty minutes no matter how many times I determine to be very fast and conscious of the time.

In fact, this weakness made me always wake up earlier than others during days of early lectures to bathe and get ready for class as my coursemates who stayed in the same hostel with me would always leave me in the bathroom and by the time I got out, they would be ready to leave for class. I was always the one who kept them waiting.

Some may not spend so much time in the bathroom, but applying all the beauty products on their skin is what consumes the bulk of their time.

I still remember times when hubby had to go alone to an event and I came much later because he was tired of waiting.

If there's an award for who spends the most time getting dressed, I would probably win it back to back. Lol.

  1. I don't have such problem thank God. The little time I waste at all is in bathing, once I am out, at most 15 minutes I am done dressing up. So I usually bath last if we have a function and still finish dressing up before most of the do.

    1. I pick my attire (jewellery and make up inclusive) a day before. I wake up early then spend 5 mins tops in d bathroom and get ready on time or 10 mins late max

    2. My wife is always the first to get into the bathroom, followed by the children and then I am the last. Meanwhile, most times when we are going out together like on Sundays when getting set for church, I still end up waiting for them.
Sometimes, my wife will still run back inside the house that she forgot something.
God bless our wives and women.

  2. Makeup takes most female's time when dressing up.

People like us that don't really make up heavily except it's a special event. We dress fast

After spending 100 hours dressing, And you still come out like this?

  4. This thing causes issues between me and my sisters,my mum all the time. and you can't complain, you will be seen as impatient and rude. now if we have an occasion together everybody goes seperately.
even the girlfriends I've had are the same 😪.
I just hope my wife will be different...even though the experiences of other men are not encouraging. I'm hopeful that there is a woman somewhere whose 8am is not 9:45 😂

    1. You can work this out with your wife, tell her you're leaving 30min or 1hour before the set time(you keep the real time to yourself),by the time she finishes her orisirisi, she will fall within your expected time.

      2. Help her out with her dressing, encourage her to pick her outfit a night before (this doesn't work with some ladies, they'll wake up with another dress in mind). Just teach her how to plan ahead
      3. Have an idea about fashion, this will really help when she's confuse on which colour of shoe should go with dress.

  5. I don't kuku take time. The highest time I will spend bathing will probably be 10mins and that's if I am washing my hair.

Even my making up is very fast as how many make up I sabi. Give me 20-30 mins tops and I'm ready to be on my way out

  9. Stella I don't really make up. I'm still a learner and I want/love to learn/have different types of makeup for different occasions so if it takes time, I'll just start on time

    1. All in all, to be a woman is not a day's job.... All hail the Queens who take time out to look reasonable, presentable and hot and still make time to make sure all those with and around them look super good.

  11. If you need two hours for your makeup, start two hours early, just incase "makeup nor fall put and you need to wash it off and do a fresh one"!

If you need one hour to take your bath, start an hour early.

I spend time in the bathroom, so, I always go on time and make sure I'm not wasting my own time.

As for makeup, I spend up to an hour, so, I start early and I'm always on time.
I work with time, no time to waste.

  12. any reasonable person should know a woman must take more time to get dressed than a man. we all know what a woman has to put on from head to toe. for a guy its just the outfit, shoes and maybe a little grooming. if you know the woman you marry then work it out on how to go about timing. I cannot let a mans nagging make me come out looking like something the cat dragged from under the bed...lol...e hard we drive separately

  13. Classy with a hint of sassy.... That's so me. I rarely keep people late for outing.

  14. Reverse is the case in my own house, my husband is the one that takes all the time in the bathroom, he will use 10 minutes to brush his teeth, he must use the toilet before his bath, he must shave. He spends 25-30 minutes in the bathroom every day.
I can use 10 minutes to brush, bath and wear my clothes. I use only powder and lipstick.
He keeps getting us late to everywhere.
