The Central bank of Nigeria has sent a memo to all deposit money Banks, non Bank financial institutions and other financial institutions on the risk involved with trading in crypto currency...
The CBN says all accounts dealing in such should be closed immediately....
What is your take on this?
Stella this your headline can give someone heart attack.
ReplyDeleteJeez😦 zoo country.
ReplyDeleteIt this is 2017 noww
ReplyDeleteWhy?
ReplyDeleteThis is serious
First, they took away our ability to send naira from abroad, now this. What dyu all expect when u voted ur ancestor as president.
ReplyDeleteForward never, backward ever
😯
ReplyDeleteWhen will they ban mobile phones too;so we can go back to using typewriter or perhaps Raven to send letters..
ReplyDelete@MARTINS
Ravens would be so lite!!!, looolz.
Delete🤣
DeleteE reach to ask oh
DeleteHmm its because bitcoin is untraceable and yahoo boys, money lauderers convert stolen money to bitcoin. They hardly hold cash around because likes of EFCC so bitcoin is the way for them
ReplyDeletePhoenix dear, it is not enough reason. The world is advancing, Nigeria is going backward. By the time we realise it, it'll be too late. At a time when the world is even moving towards cryptocurrencies, our country wants to cut us off from it.
DeleteYes i know but the thing is CBN want to regulate it and want it licensed so they have control over the activities just like other climes. Well lets see how it goes cause i believe it wont be for long.
DeleteTrue!
DeleteThat’s not true, they banned it because Nigerians are bypassing banks for international transactions. Crypto and usdt is the best way to get dollars since the govt cancelled every other means last year..
DeleteThey are just using fraud to cover face for the nonsense damage they’ve done to the country
why did they stopped people from receiving money using Paypal??
Hmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteI laugh on P2P
ReplyDeleteNo nation's Central Bank backs/encourages crypto. Ghana and a few other countries came out with their versions of the policy in early January. There is nothing wrong with the policy. It didn't say Nigerians should stop trading in Crypto. It is the responsibility of CBN to regulate the activities of all financial institutions in Nigeria, this is exactly what it did.
ReplyDeletePlease how is Crytocurrency affecting CBN again?
ReplyDeleteWhat is our offence in this country sef?
The Zoo government wants to borrow/launder/steal our monies that we have been refusing to keep in our local bank account
DeleteThis is a very sad story oh...let me call my friend oh.. .She won't find this funny
ReplyDeleteThis is proof that Nigeria does not want it's people to be financially free. Crypto is being traded in other countries with no problem, why are you involved with what people are investing their personal money in? Take your investments out of Nigeria, if you can help it
ReplyDeleteAll other countries are clamping down on it too, Uk passed it into law on 6 Jan.
DeleteAwon oniyeye...
ReplyDeleteNsogbu..
ReplyDeleteNa wa. And I don't even know what cryptocurrency and bitcoin are. I know they aren't physical money that you can touch. They are online money that na only for computer you dey see am.
ReplyDeleteSo that kind spiritual money how do you withdraw it to spend.
@anonymous 19.58, I believe the law is for amateur investors not a general ban. It is definitely not the same thing as what Nigeria is doing
