Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative..

Hmmm....

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
ADVICE NEEDED ON WHAT TO DO

I don't know who to talk to.

I have talked to God and I believe he will answer me. Stella I really need people's opinion.

I wrote to you sometime ago on three occasions about my Labour room drama. How I had 4th degree tear. Since then I have been having series of surgery to correct my spincther anus area which proved abortive.

My last child is ten months now. The thing is that after having him, the doctor tried to sow the tear, but it ends up tearing after some days, after the 4th sewing of the vaginal tear, it broke down. I was discharged and told to go home and allow myself to heal. If you see the area, it looks horrible, all the flesh inside the vagina and anus are all open and gaping.

I constantly soil myself. Around July, I went back to the hospital to perform another surgery, I almost died. In fact I died and came back. After staying for a month in the hospital, I ended up home with a relapse and nothing achieved. I need help, advise or encouragement.

I am too ashamed to talk to anyone around. It's affecting my marriage cos hubby can't have s#x. If you see me outside you will never believe that I have this issue and thinking about it affects me emotionally:

OMG!!!

    1. I think surgery can correct it. The question is, does she have the financial capability. She should reach out to doctors like Dr Dubrow and Dr Nasif or google any credible doctor that covers Botched surgeries abroad. Have in depth phone or chat conversations with them before setting out to meet. There are great surgeons that do corrective surgeries. Just use google and have patience. Sorry Nne.

My mum told me so and it helped me not have any abnormal cut. This kind of situation can end ones marriage if the hubby isnt an understanding one

  15. I had horrible tears too after my last delivery, the suture refused to heal as well and gaped open after a few days and the doctors told me there was nothing they could do because it was no longer a fresh wound.
I spoke with one of the nurses there and she advised me to ditch the heavy 'Conflict' pad I was using and stick to light ones like Always. She advised me not to using hot water and disinfectant for sitz bath, but use warm water I can comfortably sit in with salt sprinkled in it. After a week, the wounds healed but the scar is still there. I am very fine down there.
I think the advice we receive after delivery plays a major role on how we treat ourselves.
I pray you get out of this healed.

    3. I researched soooo much while I was pregnant, that I had a lot of those things at my finger tips and by God's grace, all went smoothly. I bought the sitz bath bowl before I even gave birth and made sure I sat on it everyday for the first 2-3 weeks after birth, I also bought one witch Hazel pad and spray I saw online.
Down below is back to new, but then again, I was given just a little episiotomy, so maybe that too counts.

  21. CS is what I did for my two kids, they gossiped and called me lazy woman but I no send, my vagina is intact, but even that CS too is risky especially in this Nigeria. Also, some women that love kids, those who have like 4 or 5 kids would not be able to use CS all through due to cost and risk. So many risks involved in childbirth and some men will still be abusing their wives after going through pains to give them kids

    2. I know of a woman who did 5 c/s. I know her not them say. I've also done 3. If not for age I would have gone for the 4th one. My friend has done 4. It's your money that would suffer it. I prefer CS to normal delivery. It's less risky if done in a controlled environment. You pick the date walk in and you're out max 3 days. Not CS after much labor and plenty complications.

    3. Anon@15.13, please read what Rose 🌹 wrote below. That's how to comment on a very serious challenge of another woman and help her.

Not every matter should be used to sub men.

By the way, women want children for themselves too. In fact, the typical Nigerian woman believes the children of her marriage belongs to her while her husband has the duty to provide for her and the children.

  22. Dear poster, I don't know where you live. But if you are in the North or close, go to the National Obstetric Fistula Centre, Katsina State.
Not every surgeon understands ano rectal fistula. There are specific muscles they need to incorporate in the repair, otherwise it breaks down. Ask for a Dr Sadiya if you can. She is the best uro-gyneacologist/ fistula surgeon I know, and trust me, I've worked with many.
While you're there, ask if they think you might need a colporhaphy or vaginal reconstruction as well (if you decide to do this, make sure you've had all your kids, otherwise subsequent vaginal deliveries might ruin your repair).
All the best to you. There is light at the end of this tunnel.

Dear poster, pls take the advice of going to a VVF center in the north.

I think it’s unconscionable that your doctor elected to repair the tear 4 times. This is very specialized surgery, not for just general obstetricians to repair and you should have been referred after the 1st failed repair.

Pls take heart, don’t be sad and go to the north for a proper repair.

What caused the 4th degree tear? Was your baby too big for vaginal delivery or breached and you refused to go for CS and stubbornly delivered like the "Hebrew Women"? You should have included that part so that other women will learn.
Anyway, may God see you through.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes we all need to read and learn what caused the tear.
I think that's why an episiotomy is done ie the Drs cut the perineum themselves rather than allowing the force of the delivery and bearing down to tear and scatter the place.

Poster, pls take the advice of Roses 15.16. I wish you all the best, and hope to read from you soon of how well you have become.

  34. This doctor was totally unprofessional. He was too ashamed to refer you to the Gynae in a teaching hospital for proper pereneal repairs.
I guess some muscles of the pelvic floor was cut and the place is obviously infected and that is why healing is almost impossible.
Prepare for some stay in a teaching hospital bed because the regular antibiotics are being resisted (because of the proximity to the anus) by the infecting organisms.
Next, they will book you for surgical repairs that might involve a plastic surgeon in addition to the Gynae.
    You will be fine.
Above all, trust God; the great physician is the one that heals while we treat.
Suffice it to say that in sane climes, that doctor would have suffered loses in litigations. But that is not paramount right now.
They will do a swab culture of the place and find a possible antibiotics that will help

  35. Hubby can't have sex? Sex is not everything . You have to seek for a second opinion and possibly a third. Go to another hospital, a teaching hospital where multiple experts can care for you. When the first operation failed you ought to have gone to another hospital

  48. That’s really a horrendous ordeal to go through and frankly, gross negligence from your doctor. He shouldn’t have put you through vaginal birth and should have adviced you on why CS is a better option instead. You need counselling for ptsd.

It will take a long time to heal but heal you will, darling so your hubby needs to understand and pull his support to help you through this even if no sex takes up to a year . No more heavy lifting and physical activities for the now, you need stool softener and go probiotics..No citrus, no alcohol and no caffeine and you will notice a huge difference as you heal.

You will be fine and feel like your old self again, your incontinence will reduce as you allow yourself to heal. If therapy is accessible to you, go for it as they will tell you pelvic floor exercises to do (kegel and em). Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, you are not a superhuman as that might be causing your relapse. Get as much help and support as you can, this too will pass.

Keep yo head up, sis. 💛💛

    1. Having a baby that is too big to go through the pelvis and vagina

      Refusing to have an episiotomy.

Possible infection of the episiotomy site due to infection leading to break down of the stitches. Caring for an episiotomy site involves having a sitz bath until the wound is healed.

      Others can add more.

      Delete
    2. Sometimes when they tell women that the baby is too big to be delivered via vagina, they should do CS, our women will reject it and opt for vagina delivery. (Hebrew women things)
Other times, the person that took the delivery would not give her enough cuts in the appropriate spots so that the baby can come out smoothly, thereby making the woman to push and the baby will forcefully tear the vagina anyhow and come out.
Sometimes too, if the baby is breach, like wants to come out with leg, hand, buttocks, the best thing to do is CS but our women will reject it and this above can be the result.
So the fault can be from the hospital or the woman herself.

  61. Poster, you'd be fine. Please go to a good hospital. A teaching hospital preferably. You'd need to see a general surgeon who may also need to consult the ob/gynecologic if need be. They may put a colostomy on you and allow the place to heal before repairing it. Pls dont despair. You'd be fine.

  62. May God perfect his healing in your life. I think u need to changed your hospital and go see a gynaecologist that specializes in vaginal surgery. If u are extremely financially bouyant. Contact Dr Paul Nassif and Dr Terry Durbrow to help u in stitching ur vagina. U need to be fast in doing this surgery so that your marriage won't pack up like a pack of cards bcus is not all men that can hold their body. Henceforth, stop child bearing so that u can treat your health .

  63. It is very sad that our health system is like this. What this poster is passing through is not this difficult to correct, imagine what she has been through for 10months now while still taking care of the home and kids.

I'm glad you brought it here as I can see some suggestions and referrals up there, God bless those bvs for these. Your problems are over poster, I know God will use this blog to do it. Pls bring updates. God bless you.

  64. I have heard of a case like yours and the lady was so frustrated for almost a year, doing constructive surgeries every 3 months I think as you have to wait for it to heal before another surgery.

I think what you are going through is called Anal Fistula.. there's a hospital in Jos that specialises in this stuff.. that was where the lady was finally treated and I think it was done for free sef..

Please research about the hospital in Jos, owned and run by white folks I think.

    Good luck

  65. Hi poster. Sorry for all you are going through. You need a good comestic or plastic surgeon. This surgery is reconstructive and all these regular surgeons or ob's and gyna are obviously not getting it right. If you have the money i will suggest you go abroad. Or research on a good plastic surgeon board certified in Nigeria. Also, you can reach out to Dr. Nassif and Dubrow, God can make them see your message and they will decide to help you. Please don't give up something can and will be done definitely.

  66. Just Google VVF centres in Nigeria. You can choose the one nearest to you. Is a surgery that can be done in Nigeria. There are a lot women that have this condition. You are not the only one. You will be fine.

  67. Please let that place heal properly. As in completely and feel no pain anymore before doing corrective surgery(preferably outside of Nigeria if you have the financial capability) please start saving seriously towards this surgery. You need an experienced dr to do this once and for all. Stella please if this story is true, I’m willing to drop $500 or more towards this lady’s surgery. God will heal you completely in Jesus name. 🙏🏽

  69. Jesus people are really going through alot, may God heal you.

I will suggest since you have done surgery several times yet no result, why don't you hand it over to God completely. May God heal you.

  70. I’m so sorry for what you are going through. Could you consider taking STC -30 to aid healing. My brother had anal fissure and it helped his healing. His surgeon was surprised at how fast things healed. I’ll keep you in my prayers.

  71. Poster I am not suggesting surgery for you because of the risk imvolved. I'm praying for divine healing for you. The Great physician now is near, the sympathising Jesus. Please dont get tired calling on Him. He hears and sees and will come to your aid. Just keep trusting Him and join NSPPD.

  75. Poster, as some bvs have stated, you need to go to the north as the specialists for your case are there.
Secondly, get a lawyer to sue the demonic dr that gave you the tear.
Thirdly, I dunno if they abide by individual led birth plan in Nigeria, ladies please stop pushing on your back!!! Look at our anatomy & you’d understand that laying on the back to push is against gravity. Push on all fours, on your side, squat with support or stand, water birth too!
Omg I’m so infuriated by this poster’s ordeal.
Your husband’s priority should be supporting you/baby and actively looking for solution in the north.
